David Burns, dmd, mdsc.

Dr. David R. Burns is currently a Professor of Prosthodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. He has been a member of the full-time faculty since 1985. He received his D.M.D. degree from the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry in Portland, Oregon. He completed a one-year dental general practice residency with the United States Public Health Service and prosthodontic specialty training at Emory University School of Dentistry in Atlanta. Dr. Burns has been actively involved in prosthodontic research and has been funded through the National Institutes of Health. He has published articles on a wide variety of topics associated with prosthodontics. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow in the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Burns maintains a private practice in Prosthodontics through the VCU Faculty Practice.
