REPORT: Cultural Extravaganza 2015-2016

D.A.V. PUBLIC SCHOOL, THANE (W) organized a cultural extravaganza 2015-2016 on 19th January 2016 with

the theme SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WONDERFUL WORLD. All the students of standard II exclusively

participated in the programme.

The anchors Mrs Purnima Sharma and Mrs Charu Dhamija wonderfully hosted the programme.

Mrs Simmi Kalsi welcomed the guest of honour for the occasion Hon Shri Ashutosh Tripathy, National

working President ( Anti Corruption Intelligence Committee), Mrs Sheetal Satpute ( Thane Distt President),

Mr Ronny Buddha (National Secretary Cyber), Mr Ramakant Pawar, (National Chief Legal), Mr Vilas

Deshpande ( Maharashtra Vice Pr. Organiser), and Mr Santosh MenonNational Sr. Vice President).

The school was privileged to welcome the special guests Mrs Khwaja and Mrs Sangeeta Gupta.

A powerful power point presentation was presented by Ms Padmavati and Ms Sri Lakshmi to take the

audience through a variety of achievements by the school and its students at different levels. The year saw

success by winning various medals and certificates- 37 at Zonal level, 31 at state level, 13 at National level

and 2 at International level. The school takes pride in the different activities / projects conducted in the

school like herbal garden, blood donation camp, havan, Grand Parents day, fruit break, healthy canteen,

regular health check ups, festival celebrations, educational trip, life skills, club activities etc.

Then Mr Santosh Menon addressed the gathering expressing his gratitude for being invited in the

function. He felt pride in the mammoth feat of school’s achievements. After seeing the ppt he marveled at

the way in which the school had grown.

The Principal, Mrs Simi Juneja welcomed the guests and the parents to be part of the programme and to

encourage the tiny tots.

As every event begins with the prayer , this function too started with prayers to invoke blessings of the

Almighty. The connecting thread of all the performances was a small skit. It was Riya, a small girl who was

visited by a fairy in her dream. The fairy takes her to different wonderful lands across the globe. Thus, the

audience was made to see a variety of cultures in dance forms of different countries. One by one the fairy

took Riya to Brazil, China, the land of great wall; Jordan, the royal city; Rome, a land of amphitheatre; Peru,

the land of Machu Picchu and at last, the land of the Taj Mahal, India. Thus the audience had a wonderful

journey with Riya and the fairiesto the fascinating places with power packed dance performances by tiny

tots of the school. The costumes, the dance steps, the slide show at the back made this event very alluring,

dazzling and magnificent.

As a closing note, Mrs Madhuri gave a note of thanks to the principal, chief guests, PTA members, parents,

teaching and non teaching staff, supporting staff, and of course the tiny tots and the stars of the event.
