05.00 p.m. “Erdinger Urweisse” Party at the Expo

It’s hard to imagine DATEV Challenge Roth without the Bavarian “Meet & Greet” event with

the top athletes at the Erdinger Urweisse Cabin. On Thursday at 5 p.m. the triathlon stars will

meet for a relaxed get together. Everyone will wear dirndl dresses and lederhosen, and there

will be wheat beer, pretzels and other Bavarian specialties. A perfect opportunity for all fans to

see the tops up close, and also in very unusual outfits. Experience the Bavarian way of life and

have fun!

07.00 p.m. “Bambini Run” at the Hilpoltstein market place

The new Bambini Run for kids between the ages of three and six years will start at the

Hilpoltstein market place at 7 p.m. – i. e. before the NightRun. There will be two groups

(children aged 3-4 years, and 5-6 years). The 150-metres course goes from the market place

towards the end of Marktstraße / beginning of Siegertstraße and back. The little participants

will receive certificates and medals, which are hand-made by the Hilpoltstein nursery schools.

All children of the above-mentioned age groups can take part in the Bambini Run free of

charge, and it will not be necessary to register in advance.

08.15 p.m. “Nightrun” from Hilpoltstein to Roth, Finish Triathlon Park

The “NightRun” is the popular run for everybody a few days before DATEV Challenge Roth,

where the joy of running is in the foreground. The NightRun starts at 8.15 p.m. at the

Hilpoltstein market place. Before the start, there will be music and information by

TEAMCHALLENGE as well as cool drinks from 7 p.m. Then, the mayor of Hilpoltstein, Markus

Mahl, will give the starting signal for the 11.6 kilometers run, where participants may enjoy the

sunset on their way.

Friday, July 10th

The City of Roth welcomes its triathletes

At 4.45 p.m. there will be a colourful parade of actors together with the drummers of the vhs

Roth from the “Augustinum” retirement home to the stage near the lake in order to welcome

the triathletes. There, the City of Roth is going to present itself as a comunity that is

enthusiastic about sports and music: After the drum music of the vhs group the children of

the municipal kindergarten will welcome the athletes with a song, and the show dance girls of

the Roth carnival club in their pretty costumes will whirl around the stage. Of course, there

will also be a performance by the Boogie Woogie dancers of the Roth dancing club who will

take the spectators back to the 1950s. Mayor Ralph Edelhäußer and TEAMCHALLENGE

are going to welcome interesting interview partners from the world of triathlon.

With its popular entertainment program, the City of Roth welcomes the triathletes from all over

the world at the stage near the lake in the Triathlon Park. There, the City of Roth is going to

present itself as a community that is enthusiastic about sports and music.

Between the individual performances, Mayor Ralph Edelhäußer and TEAMCHALLENGE are

going to welcome interesting interview partners from the world of triathlon.

06.00 p.m. - 08.00 p.m. Carbo Party at the festival tent / Triathlon Park

06.30 p.m. - 10.00 p.m. Challenge forAll in the public baths of Roth

The Junior-Challenge is starting on Friday with the Challenge forAll event, featuring the

companies’ triathlon and Challenge Sprint for ambitious triathletes. The traditional race event,

which was celebrating its 10th birthday last year, is an important part of the framework program

of DATEV Challenge Roth.

08.00 p.m. - 10.00 p.m. Welcome-Party, powered by BAYERN3, market square

At Roth’s party of the year, the big BAYERN 3 Kick-off Party on Friday night, there will again

be lots of fun and action. From 6 p.m. local inn-keepers will provide food and drinks at the Roth

market place. From 8 p.m. there will be music and lots of interviews with the top stars. As a

musical opener, the German singer-songwriter Michael Lane will entertain his audience with

harmonic Folk-Pop. The highlight of the evening will be the performance of the BAYERN 3

Band from 9 p.m., who will certainly heat up the atmosphere and turn the market place into a

rock arena. So it will definitely be a great summer evening, where top athletes, the citizens of

Roth and visitors from all over the world can meet and get to know each other in a relaxed

atmosphere before the big event on Sunday.

Saturday, July 11th

Part two of the popular Junior-Challenge event: Saturday is the day for triathlon beginners,

families and kids with competitions on various distances. For further information on Junior-

09.00 a.m. - 02.00 p.m. For athletes: Registration at the registration tent /

09.30 a.m. - 03.00 p.m. Challenge Kids‘ Area - Childcare

The Challenge Kid’s Area offers parents, who participate in or watch the triathlon, the great

possibility to have their children overseen on Saturday between 9.30 am and 5.00 pm, and on

Sunday between 10 am and 5 pm. With a huge Indoor- and Outdoor-Area on the former TSV-

facility next to the festival ground, the Protestant Free Church Ecclesia Roth will again offer

lots of attractions for children of all ages, so the kids will definitely not be bored. The service

offer is valid only for children over 3 years! The costs for the childcare service are 3 EUR per

hour including drinks. Food, as long as the kids do not bring it on their own, can ordered for

additional 3 EUR. The Payment has to be done onsite, the registration has to be done online

via www.ecclesia-roth.de/childcare. If this is not possible, additional onsite registration is

possible, too. Please do not forget to provide the children with sufficient sunscreen and a

headgear (both should have the children’s name on it!).

11.15 a.m. Challenge Women For the third time, a pink wave is going to roll over Roth. At 11.15 a.m. the starting signal will

be given for the “Challenge Women” run over five kilometers, which has already acquired the

status of an iconic event in its second year. Athletic women who support their partners during

DATEV Challenge Roth on Sunday, can now also play an active part this weekend. At the Expo area, there will again be a spa lounge for all female visitors, apart from numerous

exhibitors from the field of sports. Around 1,700 starters are going to be expected. The finish-

line of the “Challenge Women” event will be at the Expo area at the festival ground. This will

definitely be a thrilling and emotional experience!

07.30 – 12.00 p.m. BAYERN 3 Countdown in Heideck

Premiere for the Countdown Party of BAYERN 3 radio station in Heideck: On Saturday, July

11, there will for the first time be a big party at the Heideck market place. From 8.30 p.m. to

midnight, the market place will turn into a real party zone with an entertainment programme

organized by BAYERN 3, including lots of music, comedy as well as top athletes and exciting

information about DATEV Challenge Roth. Right in the middle of the old town of Heideck, a

big stage and numerous food and drinks stands will be set up. As regards the entertainment

programme, the BAYERN 3 party experts, the Heideck community authorities and

TEAMCHALLENGE have come up with some excellent ideas.

Well-known BAYERN 3 sports reporter Bernd-Uwe Gutknecht will host the evening in his

charming way and with lots of expert knowledge. Among other things, he will welcome one of

the real stars of international triathlon: world triathlete and four-times Challenge Roth winner

Chris McCormack. As another highlight, Bavarian comedian Chris Böttcher will also perform

live on stage. He is famous for imitating the voices of well-known persons, especially from the

world of sports, such as Jogi Löw, the trainer of Germany’s national football team, and for his

Bavarian songs. His current programme features lots of music, parody, wordplay and witty

humour. Of course, there will also be enough time for dancing, singing along and having a

great time, as BAYERN 3 DJ Jerry Gstöttner will definitely play the right music and current hits

to get everyone into a summer party mood.

There will also be several food stations, offering typically Franconian delicacies, and the local

clubs from Heideck will offer beer and other drinks.
