Diploma Course in Advanced Network Security

AboutCINS

Centre for Information & Network Security (CINS) is an application oriented research,design and development centre in the field of information Security created under aegis ofMinistry of Communication and information technology, Government of India at theUniversity of Pune. This is the first institute of its kind in India and has created a premierresearch and training capabilities in this field for Govt. of India. The creation of CINSwas due to the emergent need for indigenous development of intellectual property in thefield of information security, in order to address and counter issues related to NationalSecurity. Information Security awareness is essential for a sound overall informationSecurity policy and its effective implementation. CINS can develop customized SecurityAwareness Training Programs for all levels of the organization. Our training programsare compelling and engaging and concentrate on equipping individuals to address allinformation Security needs.CINS spearheading this initiative in Information Securitytraining and certification by offering full time as well as part time courses.

Course Details:

Course Duration:Full Time: Six Months I 600 HrsPart Time: Twelve Months I 600 Hrs

Timings:lOam - 1 pm & 2 pm - 4 pm6 pm- 8:30 pm

Syllabus:• Network Security Fundamentals• TCP lIP in detail• Routing and ACL• Firewall• Virtual Private Network (VPN )• Operating System Security• Intrusion Detection System (IDS)• Cryptography• Attack Techniques• Risk Analysis and Authentications• Network Defense Fundamentals• Biometrics• PKI and Digital Signatures• Forensic Analysis• Physical Security, Disaster Recovery Planning, Business Continuity Planning• Law, Investigation and Ethics

Eligibility:

Any graduate with basic computer knowledge of computer.

Course Fee:

~ 25,000/- for Part time and Full time as well.

Entrance test:

Admissions will be on the basis of merit of Entrance Exam. Reservations areapplicable as per the state government rules.

The test will be conducted on Sunday, 29th Aug 2010, at Pune University. The exacttime and venue will be made available on the website. The candidates are required tocarry anyone of the photo identity (such as driving license, passport, college identitycard, etc) at the time of entrance exam.

How to apply:

1. Apply online on www.unipune.ac.inlpgadmissions2. Attach a demand draft off 500/- for open and f 350/- for reserved categories, drawnin favor of "The Registrar, University ofPune"3. Write Full Name & phone number at the back side of demand draft.4. Attach the attested copy of caste certificate if belonging to a reserved category. Writeexact caste on the form e.g. SC 1, NT2, etc5. Attach the attested copy of mark sheet of the qualifying exam and domicile certificate.

How to Send:

The completed form along with relevant documents can be sent either by post or by hand.The last date for submission of application form is 25th Aug 2010.
