Nyabing Bowling Club Season 2018-2019
29.10.18
Saturday pennants against Tambellup proved to be an afternoon some would like to forget. It was a hard fought
contest with some good bowls played with one rink winning by a couple, another rink losing by a couple and an-
other rink not having a very good day.
Tambellup won the day 5-1 with the aggregate 80 -55. Overall a great effort even though we didn’t win the day
we are winners to be able to field a full team as some bigger clubs have not been able to.
Sunday saw us head off to Borden to complete the doubleheader. With Borden losing yesterday as well , both
sides for keen to make amends. Unfortunately it wasn’t our day as all rinks fell short and Borden won 6-0 and the
aggregate 74-58.
On a happier note ,Congratulations to Michelle who was selected in the Inter League Round Robin Pairs to be
held in Mt Barker in a few weeks time.
Teams are:
Mary Wellstead and Jill Lane, Michelle Bamess and Michelle Armstrong
Ronnie Lee and Maureen Heberle, May Kiddle and Karen Dye
Resevres : Teressa Moore, Bev Sanger
We wish all the girls a successful weekend of bowls.
This Saturdays game is against Gnowangerup Red at home, on the green for a roll up at 1.15pm and afternoon
tea please.
Teams for Saturday
John Michelle George
KR Leo Roy
Reece Chrissy Robyn
Beachy Ash Tezza
Reserve: Bonnie
We are hosting the Ladies League Triples on Sunday starting at 8.45am on the green. Michelle, Robyn and Chrissy
are representing Nyabing and we wish them success for the day.
Due to the league fixture, club bowls will start at 2.30pm names in for a 3oclock start dependant on the comple-
tion of the League event The reason for this is so that everyone is required to wear club clothing if League events
are being played.
Could everyone please try and be there on Sunday and bring along a non bowling friend for a bit of fun .
Any queries to the Captain : Ash Stephens 0488127217
Nyabing Red Hatters
What a wonderful red hatters spring outing.thank you girls for traveling down to Busselton. We
had 8 ladies and 1 man (who was our chauffeur for the day) we hired a 10 seater van so we could all
travel around together. Our first port of call was an exciting train ride along the jetty to the under
water observatory. We then did a quick trot to the end of the jetty for a photo shoot. We even had
a tourist from Afghanistan wanting to have a photo taken with us and of course we obliged. We
then had a train ride back to our chauffeur who was waiting in the van for us bit of a detour to
show every one the kangaroos (country people don't see many Roos haha) and to pick up Robyn
and Julie as they didn't do the train ride with us. It was then decided that the boot leg brewery was
a great place for lunch and a few bottles of wine so that was our next port of call ..(I know at a
brewery drinking wine!) the food was great .We moved on to the Aravina estate and did a bit of
tasting there ,as you can see in one of the photos not every one was wine tasting. After watching a
bride arrive we headed back into Busselton to the deck which is at Geogrphe bay and had a couple
more drinks and bite to eat at Lyn's..to round off a wonderful day.Thank you Ladies .I hope you all
enjoyed the day as much as I did.
cheers June.
