The DI-604 provides NAT protec tion for your office andhome users from Internet in truders and hacker attacks, plusVPN pass-through for extra security. It blocks and re-dir ectscertain por ts to limit the s ervices that outside users can accessyour network. Virtual Server Mapping i s used to re- task

services to multiple servers. The DI-604 can be set to allowseparate FTP, Web, and Multiplayer game servers t o share t hesame Interne t-visible IP address whi le still protecting yourservers and workstations from hackers.

The DI-604 includes a group of filters you can configure toprovide very basic content blocking. You can prevent local IP

addresses f rom accessing domains, IP addresses, MACaddresses , and URLs that you specify and you can even make

the rest rictions dependent on the time of day.

You can conf igure any of the built- in LAN port s to function asa DMZ port. A DMZ set ting can be applied to a singl e clien t(such as a Web server) behind the router to fully expose i t tothe Interne t and ensure complete Interne t applicati oncompatibi lity even if the speci fic port is not known. Thisallows you to set up web sites and e-commerce business fromyour office while main taining protection for the re st of youroffice LAN. It also all ows you to con figure the DI-604 forapplicati ons that requi re multiple connections , such asDialpad or MSN Gaming Zone .

The DI-604 is designed for ea sy and robust connectivityamong heterogeneous standards-based network devices.Computers can communica te directly with the DI-604 forautomatic opening and closing o f UDP/TCP ports to take fulladvantage of security provided without sacrificingfunctionality of on-line applications.
