Recent CRAAMD activities

On Collisional Data collection, production & evaluation

Dr. Zhu Lin-Fan’s group

Inert atoms (He, Ne, Ar, Kr and Xe ): elastic and inelastic

scattering differential cross section, Generalized oscillator

strength, (as well as some photo-absorption cross section)

Dr. Chen Chong-yang’s group

Cu and Gd ions (from H- to Ca-like): electron impact

excitation cross section and rate coefficient including

resonance excitations, (as well as energy levels and

radiative transition rates).

Difficulties of collisional data evaluation

AM data evaluations:

Structures Dynamical processes

Difficulties come from:

non-scientific aspects

scientific aspects:

Large-scale data (most are from calculation)

Many processes (direct, resonances)

Wide energy range

Many methods (experimental & theoretical)

Large discrepancy may exist

Few bench-mark data relatively

Not well-understood physics

Model dependant data
