I would like to begin by saying a huge thank you to Parents, Carers and Learners that attended our Y11 Information Evening on Wednesday- it was lovely to see so many families. I hope that you and your son/daughter found the details shared helpful. Should you require any additional information regarding the GCSE examination process please do not hesitate to contact us. This week, we had a two day external review. The days were challenging at times, however this was a useful process for us to identify key areas for improvement. Today, we held our annual Remembrance Service. As ever, the respect and empathy demonstrated by our Learners was exceptional. We were delighted to welcome Dan Jarvis MP, Colonel George Kilburn MBE DL and Sue Thornton, mum of former learner Matthew, who served in The 4th Battalion- The Yorkshire Regiment and was sadly killed in Afghanistan on Wednesday 9th November 2011. The service was incredibly moving and our Cadets were exemplary. There have been a number of visits this week. Our Year 9 Learners went to Sheffield Hallam University and today, 15 learners visited Loughborough University. Many thanks to Mr Bond and our enterprise partner Julia Muir from Gaia Innovation for making this happen. Y8Irish dancing at Darton Primary:Irish Dancing Champion, Miss Copley,

led an Irish Dance Workshop at Darton

Primary School on Monday afternoon with

pupils from Year 8. We have received some

excellent feedback regarding the session

from pupils and teachers at the school.

Y7 Ladies Netball:Well done to our Year 7 girls Netball team

this week, who won 5 out of 6 games in

their first tournament. A superb effort!

FABULOUS, FESTIVE, FUN!

Winter Fayre:There will be lots of festive fun at our Winter

Fayre running on Sunday 4th December.

This event will be to raise funds for our

supported charity Lincs2Nepal.

Should Parents/Carers or members of our

local community wish to host a stall on the

day please contact:

Year 11 Reports:Year 11 reports have been produced and will be out next week.

Important Transport Information:We have been notified that the bus company Arriva have planned

Industrial Action for Monday 14th November 2016, therefore services490 and 471 will not be running as per the usual timetable. Learners

travelling on this route may experience some disruption. Please call Arriva

on 0844 800 4411 should you have any queries regarding this action.

Darton Voice Next Week:Wednesday: Darton Voice will be working with Darton Primary

School to complete a 'recycling' litter pick of Darton Park.

Thursday: Planting Spring bulbs in the Kexborough area will take place.

Friday: Learners will visit the Town Hall to meet with the Mayor of Barnsley.
