Time sure does fly by fast when you are having fun. It was just the start of the year and I was selecting cover artist. Leonard Wong is one of those designers who stands out to me. Not only for his style, but his willingness to step outside the box of design and create with a clear intention of style and a look that represents him fully.

I have had several opportunities to talk with Leonard about his work and we are very excited to present his brilliant new collection in Dark Beauty™. It’s very true about the Japanese culture, they’re dedicated to perfection, kindness, and clarity in their life’s work. You will see that in every element of his designs. We are fortunate to have him as our cover artist this month. June being our summer solstice, is the perfect time to bring you even more of a darker point of view in Dark Beauty™.

June brings the light to us as the longest day of summer, but if you gaze into the light, and close your eyes, you get this ball of black, this month’s issue of Dark Beauty™ is perfectly suited and will take you into the darkness with brilliant high fashion editorials, and beauty.

Avijit Saha have started to explore his potentiality in fash-ion designing with his own brand Avi’s Atelier after the completion of BAFDT (4 years Hon’s) from Shanto Mariam University of Creative Technology in 2013. The immense response from marginal user and Management commend made him more innovative and responsible. His strengths include Designing, illustrating, draping, pattern making, surface designing, using combination of fabrics and tex-tures, fabric manipulations, modern silhouettes etc. he also do Styling for model portfolios, celebrity styling and Wardrobe styling.

he have been working as a fashion designer for (men’s & women’s wear) western as well as traditional collections (clothes/jewelry) with various prestigious fashion houses .he regularly write fashion articles/Columns for Bangla-deshi Top Class fashion Magazine CANVAS.

As a Freelance Fashion Designer He was honored from various Institution by participating several competition or-ganized by Local and foreign sponsors. It’s his pleasure that he had the opportunity to participate and win the fol-lowing prizes Best of the Best Photo Contest (Organized by DARK BEAUTY MAGAZINE),23th February,2015, Can-non Pixma Paper Runway 2014 (International Fashion Designers Competition),November 2014 Organized by Canon Pixma and Asian Star 2013( Worldwide Packag-ing Competition ), December 2013, Organized by Asian Packaging Federation and also he was one of the top six of the first ever fashion designer hunt Competition in Bangladesh – “Style Guru” organized by Purple Fashion Magazine. “Style Guru” program was on aired weekly by NTV from December, 2011 to May 2012. In addition he have managed to successfully accomplish many fashion related projects occasionally which have in turn helped

him polish his creative design skills and helped to cre-ate unique products. He exposure to wider spectrum of fashion industry has personally helped him grow as a cre-ative artist and positively contribute to the fashion design houses that he have been working for.

1. What is your style? Describe it.

Ans: I look doing experimental work. Specially Gothic and Structural. In short my style reflects my circumstantial en-vironment and where my mind goes.

2. What is your process? Describe your treatments.

Ans: While Designing dresses I focus on dress patterns and overall styling. First I focus on what to create and then plan on how to prepare and afterword I just work on it till I find perfection (for at least myself).

3. How do you make a living off your work, or do you? Is there someone who supports you?

Ans: I usually work as a freelancer and sometimes as a part of a team. I also have my family to support me. They are my backbone on whatever I do.

4. What inspires you for a creation?

Ans: Whatever my circumstances present and how I feel about something inspires me to create.

5. Do you plan the entire shoot concept, or have help?

Ans: It varies from one project to another. When given a

Her ca-reer in fashion commenced in her early twenties - working as a model and a stylist in Europe’s major cities before relocating to Australia in the mid 90s. Here her unique creative style com-bined with her genuine passion for life and con-nection, lead her to transition to her current role behind the camera.

With an extensive client list Donatella’s work includes cosmetic campaigns, independent de-signer collections, look books, accessory lines, and musician promo and has been featured in numerous publications both in and out of Aus-tralia.

Emmanuelle CHOUSSY is an ex-photo mod-el who turned photographer, born and raised in FRANCE.

She studied French comparative literature of the 18th Century, then obtained a Master Degree in « Audiovisual Communication », before estab-lishing as a self-taught photographer in 2004. 2008.In 2010 she becomes successful in south of France and works for major companies like AIR-BUS Industry. But photo sessions, documenta-ries and teaching digital post-production are not enough for her. She needs to explore new hori-zons and flies to Los Angeles in 2011 with her family.

Quickly, she joins the France USA Media agen-cy’s team in LA, immortalizes Oliver STONE, Emily GIFFIN, Jessy SCHRAM, Marc LEVY, Avi ARAD and more, shoots campaigns for fashion designers, novels covers for bestseller writers, spreads for magazines… in 2012 Emmanuelle started to produce whole photoshoots surround-ed by a strong team of creative partners. Emmanuelle’s « French heritage » brings her work a touch of subtlety and elegance, as she appreciates to claim being influenced by the « Academic movement » of the European paint-ers of the XVIIe century in the set-up of her imag-es. In 2012 her work is diffused within the histor-ical Parisian photos agencies GAMMA-RAPHO and SIPA press.

Her photos become internationally published in 2011 : Los Angeles, Paris, New-York, Sin-gapore, Manchester, Bruxelles, Karachi… In 2013, her photo-documentary about President JFK (50th anniversary of his death) has been published in four Europeans newspapers/mag-azines.

In 2014 she realized her first American photo exhibitions : the first one at the Pacific Design Center, the temple of contemporary Art in LA, the second one at L’ALLIANCE FRANCAISE of Los Angeles. In February 2015 she won the Harry
