Your next decision is even more critical. The college you choose needs to prepare you for a rapidly changing global economy. Your success will not be based exclusively on your skills and knowledge. At the Daniels College of Business we challenge, inspire and develop talented business leaders who act with courage and conviction.

For over 100 years we have been intent on changing the way business thinks about the world—and the way the world thinks about business. As a student you will gain real-life experience, a global perspective and an unwavering dedication to values-based leadership. Our top-ranked curriculum and distinguished professors impart every lesson with these concepts in mind. As a result, Daniels students aren’t just challenged intellectually, but also by their own principles.

Redefine what it means to be in a classroom and dive into critical thinking and problem solving through in-class assignments and experiential learning. Many of our classes are project based and focus on active practice and engaging discussion instead of straight lecture.

Sharpen your writing and research skills through dynamic projects, papers and class assignments.

Consult with corporate partners and conduct relevant case studies to understand how the lessons you’re learning apply to real-world careers. In the past, Daniels students have partnered with companies and organizations such as Molson Coors, Newmont Mining, Deutsche Bank, Coca-Cola, Frontier Airlines, IHS, Dish Network, Denver Health, Janus Capital, Opera Software, Vail Resorts, United Way, the Colorado Secretary of State, and more:

Plus,we keep our class sizes small to create the ideal environment for a more personalized experience with faculty and staff. No student is ever just a number at Daniels.

Carol Tomé came to the Daniels College of Business immediately after earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming. She started her career in banking, becoming director of banking at Johns Manville Corporation in 1988. Eventually, she became vice president and treasurer of Riverwood International Corporation in Atlanta, a packaging unit of Manville. In 1995, Tomé was recruited to join The Home Depot as its treasurer—the company had just 14 stores at the time.

Today, Tomé is The Home Depot’s CFO and executive vice president for corporate services. Her advice to Daniels students: “There are always opportunities for the best students. Know who you are and what you want, and you’ll make the right decisions for your career.”

There’s no place like the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. Founded 150 years ago, the University of Denver is the oldest private university in the region.

Denver and the Rocky Mountains

Widely recognized as a top city for young professionals, Denver offers more than 300 days of sunshine, quick mountain access for outdoor enthusiasts, fabulous night life, great dining, and exciting, youthful energy to spare. It’s also a hot spot for thriving business activity where Daniels students benefit from the College’s strong corporate connections throughout the Denver area.

Denver is located at the base of the breathtaking Colorado Rocky Mountains, which offer an unparalleled playground right in our own backyard. Ski, mountain bike, hike, camp, explore history or simply enjoy the view.

Campus

Our city and University are both just the right size. They’re big enough to carry a reputation for proven excellence, but small enough to foster a genuine community where you'll never fall through the cracks.

Stroll our campus’ 125 tree-shaded acres set in a quiet residential neighborhood. Relax or study on the lawns under a bright blue sky. The campus features a palette of sun-loving sandstone, sturdy brick and resilient copper that reflect the state’s landscape and culture. Timeless and durable, they have become the University’s signature architectural metaphors for history, integrity and a quality educational experience.

The hands on learning at Daniels taught me that in order to succeed in business you must rely on the talented people that surround you.

The Daniels curriculum exposed us to many executives who lead with compasses rather than weather vanes—facing adversity and making difficult decisions that weren’t always popular.

Dr. Ron Rizzuto’s Turnaround Management Association project taught me how important it is to work through difficult decisions and market conditions with all stakeholders involved. Without everyone on board during difficult times, a business is destined to fail.

The internship I got through a Daniels Career Expo was an incredible experience and an essential part of my MBA experience. I was invited to DaVita for an all-day interview and was selected to be a part of its summer Redwoods program—which targets MBA students between their 1st & 2nd year—where I worked on putting together a business plan that outlined how DaVita could help other companies.

The internship was a chance for me to test out the company and an opportunity for the company to see if I was a good fit. I was accepted into the full time leadership development program as a Redwoods Resident where I learned about the company for a year from the ground up, working as a facility administrator of a clinic before ultimately transitioning into a regional operation director role.

I love having the opportunity to work for a company with a strong mission and values that drive their business decisions. It’s great to help build that at the front lines and be a part of something different, special and meaningful in the business world.
