DESCRIPTION

As a philosophy student, Daniel Aram Hampikian excelled in school. As an undergraduate at Georgia State University, he was funded by the Hope Scholarship from 2002 to 2006. In 2005, he received the Faculty Scholarship Award. In 2006, Daniel Aram Hampikian received the Research Honors, Georgia State University’s Dean’s Key Award, and the Honors Thesis Competition Award. After the completion of his B.A. in philosophy, Daniel Aram Hampikian completed his master’s and his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Miami. In 2009, he received the Arsht Ethics Research Grant.

• Daniel Aram Hampikian was drawn to philosophy after reading the teachings of some of the world’s most famous philosophers including Socrates, Aristotle, and Confucius.

• Near the completion of his Ph.D. in philosophy from University of Miami, Daniel Aram Hampikian began teaching courses in philosophy.

Before Daniel Aram Hampikian could graduate with a Ph.D. in Philosophy, he had to write and defend a dissertation. Daniel Aram Hampikian’s dissertation on “Moral Emotions in Nonhuman Animals” was accepted by doctors in the

Department of Philosophy at the University of Miami. Daniel Aram Hampikian completed his dissertation in February of 2013. In May of 2013, Daniel Aram Hampikian graduated as a Doctor of Philosophy and now teaches philosophy classes including: Introduction to Philosophy, Contemporary Moral Issues, and Critical Thinking and Ethics.
