Interested in becoming an LBC
Apprentice? What you can expect:
Auditions lead by experienced dance instructors and evaluated by LBC Artistic staff. Selection is based on technique and stage presence.
Access to Company-sponsored Master classes and a Summer Intensive to supplement studio training
Casting in all LBC performances. Roles to be determined by Artistic Director. Potential for partnering with professional danseurs
Guidance and access to resources for those interested in pursuing a professional career in ballet including information about selecting summer intensives and LBC sponsored discussions with current professional dancers
Apprentice Requirements:
Apprentices must be 13-19 years old and agree to participate in all Company Productions, rehearsals, workshops, masters classes; and community outreach activities An Apprentice with the Company is a non-compensated dancer with the requisite skills and experience taking at least 5 hours of ballet technique and pointe classes per week

ABOUT LBC
Since 1978, the Loudoun Ballet Company
(LBC) has provided young, talented dancers
across Northern Virginia with pre-
professional performance opportunities in
some of the world’s most beloved ballets.
The first regional youth ballet in Loudoun
County, LBC was founded in 1978 and
continues to grow and thrive, earning the
title of Loudoun County’s “Best Performing
Arts Group” every year since 2010. LBC-
trained dancers have continued to dance
through college, with professional dance
companies, and on Broadway.
PARTNERSHIP
The Loudoun Ballet Company
(LBC) partners with exceptional ballet
schools across the DC Metropolitan area in
providing the highest quality ballet
performance in found in Northern
Virginia. We are particularly excited to
announce a new partnership with Studio
Bleu of Ashburn, Virginia. Through this
partnership, LBC will make Studio Bleu’s
Ashburn studio its home for the upcoming
season of rehearsals, master classes,
and summer intensives.

MISSION STATEMENT
LBC is dedicated to promoting excellence in
dance and provides talented young dancers
the opportunity to experience performing
within the discipline of a professional-level
setting. LBC is committed to enhancing the
cultural fabric of the Loudoun community
and beyond by presenting an affordable
performing season featuring the highest
quality in regional ballet.
OBJECTIVES
LBC was established with the following objectives:
To increase appreciation for dance as a
performing art
To honor the history of dance through the
preservation of authentic and original
choreography
To further the arts in Loudoun County by
presenting quality and innovative dance
experiences
To provide a cultural and educational
resource and outreach program for the
community through dance
To stimulate growth in the artistic
community
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
For more than 30 years, LBC’s community
outreach efforts have introduced area
under-served and at-risk populations of all
ages and socioeconomic backgrounds to
dance education and appreciation. LBC is
committed to making ballet accessible to all
residents of the greater Loudoun community
and fostering an appreciation of dance.
PERFORMANCE CASTING
LBC includes as many interested young
dancers, senior citizens and people with
disabilities as possible in its performances.
SUPPORT OF LOCAL ART STUDENTS
LBC invites host high schools’ Orchestra
Ensembles to perform before the ballet
performance and at intermission.
COLLABORATION WITH LOUDOUN ARTS COMMUNITY
LBC is a member of the Loudoun Arts
Council and has shared the stage with the
Loudoun Symphony in several
performances.
