Bollywood Culture is a very well known culture. More known for their BIG weddings but are able to educate others about another perspective of people from around the world.

A little about me..My name is Amanda Baldeo. I created this website to help people who are interested in this kind of culture and want to endure more knowledge about it. Many don’t know much so im gonna try my best to help. In addition, as being a bollywood dancer, it could help more people in the world to understand a personal perspective.

MusicBollywood music is expressed in many ways. There are different genres within the songs and they all have a meaning; whether it is to have fun or to understand and relate to the artist who produced it. Bollywood music is much more than just knowing the lyrics, you would hear a beat to a certain song and might have the urge to start dancing. The music is to bring joy and happiness around others. However, sometimes it could just relate to how you feel. This song is called Aja Nachle. This entire song is about getting people to dance with you and enjoy your lives.

Some more insight of some songs this song is called Mere dosti mere pyar. This song is about friendship. The song is from the movie Dosti. “Mere dosti mere pyar” mean My friendship my love. The boy singing this song is blind and in the olden days everyone thought since he was handicapped, they shouldn’t be his friend and one day he made a friend and started singing to him.

DanceDance is a very important concept in Bollywood. There are a variety of dances within a song. To be broad; you have modern, jazz, classical as your top 3 dances around the Bollywood genre. Dance movements are meaningful to the song unless it is a party song, but even then it still has meaning. Dancing is supposed tell a message; whether it can be “come and party with me” or “ i miss you” or a old time story of what ancestors went through.

This is a dancer doing the style Kathak. It relates to classical dancing. You have to wear bells and follow the beat to the song. While this dancer is dancing notice her facial expressions.

The meaning of the movements:The movements you make while dancing is so important. You can have classical dancing and it is so important to make sure you know the meaning to the moves. Remember, you have head, neck, arms, legs and facial expression when dancing. The style of dancing is very important. For example when do kathak, you have know what foot movement and if you are able to make the story clear. This example is a classical dance to the gods.

HistoryBollywood originated in Bombay which is

now known as Mumbai, India. The term

Bollywood was a play off of the word

Hollywood but instead of the ‘H’ it was a

‘B’ for Bombay (Grant). The history of

Bollywood is very important, many old

movies are still very well known till this

day and likewise with the music.

This song is called Hai apna dil to Awara. It came out in 1958 and till this day it is well known.

How bollywod can affect our society

Bollywood can affect our society by bringing diversity. Many people love bollywood movies because it has a

good plot or their music because it is so festive. Many also love the weddings

and it brings joy to know that Bollywood culture can spread and bring

joy to others.
