Dammit Doll Materials: • 2 x Pieces of fabric 18cm x 28cm • Template for body • Stabilizer same size as fabric • Pellon same size as fabric • Wool for hair • Rattle • Embroidery design for eyes, lips or moustache • Thread to match fabric
Method: • Insert Microtex Needle #80 • Attach Foot #1 • Iron pellon onto the back of fabric. • Iron stabilizer onto back of front fabric • Place template onto fabric and trace • Draw a line with pencil down either side of body through the centre of the legs.
• Sew along the vertical lines on either side of the centre. You can use decorative stitches of your choosing, and if you have an alphabet on your machine you can combine to create a saying or words of your choice.
• Start from the right side first and place the inside edge of the foot (left side) along the marked line
• Make sure you sew the second line from the bottom up. • Trim threads
• Remove Foot # 1 and replace with Foot #20 • Attach quilting guide using the last marking on the stitch
plate (1’ guide) as a guide. Tighten screw.
• Program in 2 stitches if you have a memory or select a decorative stitch on your machine if you do not have a memory,
• Place the quilting guide at the hip line and sew horizontal lines down the legs using the quilting guide to keep lines even.
• Change top thread to white • Choose eyes and mouth
• Trim to size • Select applique stitch on your machine • Alter stitch width and length to 1.5 • Move needle position to far right • Select needle down function if machine has the ability • Position eyes and mouth onto front panel • Stitch around eyes using FHS to pivot
• Change top thread to either black or red and sew around mouth or moustache
• Change top thread back to white. • Remove foot #20 and attach BSR, (plug in) or put on your
free motion foot if you do not have a BSR. • Drop feed dogs
• Free motion quilt fabric in desired effect. • Remove BSR, attach Foot #37 and raise feed dogs
• Place body pattern onto quilted fabric and trace. • Cut out both front and back patterns along marked lines. • Place right sides of both front and back together • Stitch around, leaving an opening at the top for hair. • Clip and turn through to the right side. • Fill with stuffing using chop stick to get into all the
corners. • Insert rattle to body section before filling completely.
• Use wool to create hairstyle to give your dammit doll some personality
• Tuck hair into opening and secure into place with stitching
