Acts 9:1-8

1 Meanwhile Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any who belonged to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. 3 Now as he was going along and approaching Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" 5 He asked, "Who are you, Lord?" Mexico Medical Mission Team We are happy to share with our church family our upcoming Mexico medical mission trip scheduled for March 29, 2014, to April 6, 2014. Six members of our church will be participating this year: Frank & Vickie Snyder, Glenda Keylon, Carolyn Haerr, and Dan & Rita Uhler. Again, we will go to the Eastern Sierra Madre region in the State of Puebla with indigenous people, descendants of the Aztecs who fought the Spanish conquerors in 1517. Besides Spanish, there are other languages and dialects spoken. Our two main villages will be Tatoxcac and Ixtepec. Due to the progress that has been made in Tatoxcac’s clinic, daily trips will be made to other surrounding communities as well. Our team is part of the mission projects of the Holston Conference United Methodist Church. The mission’s goal is to share God’s love by providing medical attention. Through this work, we share what we hold so precious in our hearts - Jesus, Our Savior. We appreciate the support we have received in the past from all of you. Through your prayers and generosity, we have had great success stories. May we take this opportunity to ask all of you to start praying for the success of this year’s mission trip?

Thank you so much for your support! Frank, Vickie, Glenda, Carolyn, Dan & Rita

Your cards, calls and visits have been very heart warming to me and the family during and following Bill’s illness and death. You have been faithful for many months with your prayers and caring, and it is comforting to know that there have been so many lifting us

up daily. Bill’s children have been overwhelmed at all the cards, memorials and your attendance at his service and to realize how much he was loved by his church family. We thank you for all kindnesses shown to us and to those who served the delicious meal following the service.

With deep appreciation. . . Patty and “Our” Children

Thank you so much for all the visits, calls and acts of kindness shown to us during our mom’s passing. She was very special to all of us, and we miss her dearly. A special thanks to Pastor Dale and to the UMW. Your love and support has helped us when we needed it the most.

Ladies Love Let’s Do Lunch

Ladies, 60 and up, arrived at noon, in the Family Life Center (FLC) for their February meeting of Let’s Do Lunch (LDL) on Tuesday, February 18th. Lynda Smith’s inspiring devotional focused on colors and ended with an amusing poem about a box of crayons, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Caren Ruffner decorated each table with a pair of red and white hugging monkeys surrounding candles and candy hearts on white doilies. Glenda Keylon was the featured speaker on the upcoming Mexico Medical Mission trip, March 29 - April 6, 2014. Lunch prepared by Cookie Smith was lasagna, tossed salad, bread, and dessert. The next LDL is Tuesday, March 18, at noon, in the FLC.

To Honor David & Kayla A tea was held in honor of David & Kayla Wyrick (Pastor Dale’s son and daughter-in-law), Sunday, January 26, 2014, from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m., in the Family Life Center. The couple received many nice gifts along with a Money Tree in celebration of their new life together in the Lord. The United Methodist Women are to be congratulated for organizing such a lovely tea for David and Kayla.

It started with a kiss, and now it’s come to this....

We would be delighted if you could join us for a Bridal Tea Honoring

Our Youth shared in several areas of worship on Youth Sunday, January 26th. Dee Sturgill, Stephen Winstead, Cameron Hoffman, and Drake Taylor served as ushers; Joey Heimel, Lexi Neal, Autumn, Neal, Sammi Payne, Shelbi Payne, Addison Ballard, and Kaitlyn Thurman were greeters; Ali Smith made the announcements; Kaylin Holland led The Lord’s Prayer; Erin Couch, Shy Ezell, Hailey Keylon, and Chloe Barger spoke about Resurrection, and J. T. Baker read the scripture lesson. We are very proud of our youth and look forward to the next time they participate in the worship service.
