1. hydraulically driven variable-speed fan runs only as fast or frequently as needed to increase fuel efficiency, while decreasing noise and debris flow through the coolers. There’s also an exclusive fan option that reverses automatically every 20 minutes, or at the click of a switch, to clear core-clogging buildup.

2. Fuel-sipping PowerTech™ E diesel engines meet stringent EPA Tier 3/EU Stage IIIA and Interim Tier 4 (IT4)/Stage IIIB regulations (depending on model). Exclusive electronic injection delivers significant torque rise and more usable power. Saves fuel, reduces noise, and improves cold starting, too.

3. With three different styles of avail-able controls on D-Series models, you decide how the work gets done. Foot controls are standard. Or opt for hands-only levers or fatigue-beating electrohydraulic (EH) joysticks for low-effort fingertip control and smooth machine response.

Whether you’re milking 50 or 5,000, the care and feeding of cows is highly labor intensive — which is why increasing numbers of dairy farmers depend on versatile John Deere skid steers and compact track loaders (CTLs). These compact yet highly capable farm hands are perfectly suited to a wide variety of tasks, including loading feed mixers, scraping and bedding stalls, and moving hay bales. With numerous customer-inspired details, such as roomier operator stations, quieter pressurized cabs, and swing-out curved-glass doors, it’s easy to see how D-Series Skid Steers and CTLs can make a difference at your dairy. And help you get more done, more reliably, for less.

Pull-down padded lap bar provides quick, convenient operator restraint and comfortable arm support.

Optional solid-flex tires help you save time and money by eliminating flats — and the frustration and downtime that go with them.

With a noticeably larger entryway and all-glass curved door providing wide-open access, getting in and out of skid steers has never been easier. The cab door can be opened with the boom off the ground, so you can get out and open a gate without needing to drop a bale or detach the manure scraper.

To help conserve fuel and prolong engine life, standard auto-idle reduces engine speed after the operator has vacated the seat. Full auto-idle (available with Eh controls) slows the engine after five seconds of inactivity, and resumes preset engine speed with any movement of the joysticks.

our machines are ready to start when the cows are, with backlit, glove-friendly switches that are easy to see in the early hours. And a convenient removable foot well makes it easy to clean up the cab when the day is done.

Industry-exclusive V-plenum design separates coolers in an innovative, 20 percent more efficient, V-shape configuration. Eliminating stacked coolers helps prevent material packing.

Need to run to the other end of the farm to pick up a hay bale or load the feed mixer? Equip your skid steer with an optional two-speed transmission to speed things up.

All-new pressurized cab is 50 percent quieter. More spacious, too, with six more inches of headroom.

D-tails that make a difference in the dairy.

Cows don’t take time off, and neither will your John Deere skid steer. Incorporating many of the same durability features found on our larger skid steers and CTLs, the small yet powerful 313 and 315 Skid Steers and CT315 CTL are as tough as they come. And like their bigger D-Series siblings, they deliver best-in-class stability, visibility, and serviceability. Lightweight and agile, yet surprisingly powerful, these mighty minis are the perfect size for ultra-confined areas such as pens and stalls, where tractors and other larger machines won’t fit.

Keep working until the cows come home. And then some.

Whether you know each cow by name or are milking 24 hours a day, Deere tractors, loaders, and hay tools are built to handle your dairy’s requirements, day in and day out, year after year.

It’s all about reliability — you depend on your equipment to help keep up with feedings and cleaning stalls so milking stays on schedule. Proven John Deere durability features include sealed electrical connectors, O-ring face-seal hydraulic fittings, large coolers, and extended service intervals.

Boom design keeps the load close to the machine and to the ground for carrying heavy loads. Combined with their low center of gravity and generous ground clearance, these skid steers are productively agile.

These 313 and 315 Skid Steers are as inexpensive to own as they are to acquire. Daily and periodic maintenance is quick, convenient, and minimal.

Boom design delivers excellent reach through the “work zone.” Perfect for moving pallets or loading feed mixers.

Only five-feet wide, these skid steers are perfect for virtually any kind of work in confined areas, such as cleaning or bedding stalls. If you’re really in a tight pen or stall, opt for the 7x15 tires and 1422-mm (56 in.) bucket.

The auto-shutdown system monitors engine and hydraulic vitals, and issues an audible warning when limits are exceeded. If necessary, it shuts down the machine to help prevent damage.

1. heavy-duty cross-section boom- arm design provides long-term durability and strength.

2. Industry-exclusive in-cab-activated boom lock lets the operator secure the loader arms in an upright position before leaving the seat.

3. Who says compact has to mean uncomfortable? Wide-open entry-ways make it easy to settle into the adjustable high-back sculpted seat. A convenient 12-volt port powers cell phones and other carryons, and an interior dome light and cup holder are also standard. Add a cab with highly efficient heater for additional year-round comfort.

4. These “lightweights” won’t get pushed around. Optimal 60/40 weight distribution gives them the stability needed for handling heavy loads, and impressive breakout force and 572- and 681-kg (1,260 and 1,500 lb.) rated operating capacities deliver plenty of productive punch.

Step up to the tight-turning, heavy-lifting 244J Loader. Unique stereo steering makes this compact loader highly productive, with tight turns and extra agility in close quarters. And with big breakout forces, high dump clearance, and generous lift capabilities, it’s perfect for loading feed mixers, hauling pallets, moving hay bales, and many other tasks.

Need a compact loader with super-sized features?

244J LoaDer 1. The 244J’s unique design turns tight but articulates less, keeping the center of gravity and ballast in line to counteract load forces — for superior full-turn tipping-load capacity.

2. Walk-through cab lets you enter or exit easily from either side.

3. Boom and bucket control, FNR, and differential lock are on the same low-effort lever for convenient single-handed control.

4. oscillating axle/elastic articulation reduces cab tilt by as much as 50 percent, for a smoother ride that’s easier on both machine and operator.

5. Easy-lift hood and transverse- mounted engine provide con-venient ground-level access to daily checkpoints.

6. hydraulically driven fan runs only as needed for efficient cooling, reduced noise, and lower fuel consumption.

Optional Worksite Pro™ skid-steer-style coupler lets you utilize many of the same attachments used on skid steers.

Extended service intervals help maximize uptime.

Interim Tier 4/Stage IIIB-certified John Deere turbocharged diesel delivers power without compromise in all conditions.

Unique stereo steering makes this compact loader even more productive, for tight turns and extra agility in close quarters.

Two-range hydrostatic drivetrain delivers an infinite travel speed from 0 to 30 km/h (19 mph). The inching pedal further fine-tunes control.
