Daily Lesson Plan for Monday Assessment Evidence

Learning Target/Success Criteria Student will be able to identify goals for the remaider of the school year by creating a 2020 vision board

Pre-Instructional Activity Students use myWorldStudies textbook to complete CoreConcept 1.1 Word Wise activity on p. 2 of student journal. Discuss and correct as necessary. questioning

Opening(ENGAGE)

TW discuss instructions for the “My 2020 Vision Board” activity and display examples of vision boards on eboard in front of classroom. SW complete outline of their vision board on loose-leaf paper. Upon completion of outline, TW distribute drawing paper for students to use.

Work Period(EXPLORE/EXPLAIN

EXTEND/ELABORATE)

SW create vision board on large drawing paper using words and visuals. Students should identify both and personal goal and an academic goal and develop words and visuals to develop the vsion. Students may hand draw or cut words and pictures from magazines.

Closing(EVALUATE)

Students may share work if completed or complete for homework. Teacher responds to questions, comments, or concerns of teacher.

TW: Discuss the implementation of upcoming mini unit – 7th Grade World Studies Review, in which students will create a resource guide section in their interactive binder notebook (IBN) of various social studies concepts from geography, government, and economics domains. SW: Set up section in back of Social Studies IBN behind a divider page to create resource guide. Numbers start at 1. TW distribute Table of Contents handout

Students read pages 4, 6-7 in myWorldStudies textbook. Complete IBN activity defining term geography and IBN activity Five Themes of geography puzzle pieces in which students identify the theme, wirte an explanation for the theme, and give examples of the theme.

Closing(EVALUATE) Students check work from example on eboard; TW clarify any misconceptions.

Daily Lesson Plan for Wednesday Assessment Evidence Learning Target/Success Criteria Students will be able to identify parts of a map, label continents and oceans on a world map, define major

physical features.

Pre-Instructional Activity Students use myWorldStudies textbook to complete CoreConcept 1.3 Word Wise activity on p. 4 of student journal. Discuss and correct as necessary. questioning

Opening(ENGAGE) Discuss with whole group the difference between a map and a globe and the uses for each.

EXTEND/ELABORATE)

Students continue creating their worlds studies resource guide by completing map term foldables and labeling continent and oceans activity and placing in IBN. Use pages 4, 5, 10, and 16 – 29 in myWorldStudies textbook for reference.

Closing(EVALUATE) Label maps on eboard with whole group. Students check and correct work as necessary.
