The park area includes an over 400-year old site of Gyeongsang Provincial Governor's Office during the Joseon Dynasty. Seomun Market, one of the "big 3" markets of the Joseon Dynasty era, is huge to sell almost everything one could wish to find, including fabrics, the main products in the market. Dalseong Park is located inside the oldest earthen mound fortress in the Korean fortification history, dating from 261 A.D.

Gukchae-bosang Memorial Park was built to commemorate the Gukchaebosang National Debt Repayment Movement which began in Daegu in 1907. The park has the Dalgubeol Grand Bell, Gukchae-bosang Memorial Hall and a path with monuments inscribed with famous quotes. Walking along the path of the giant oak trees is also recommended.
