INTRODUCTION
• Dadimadi Ghrita is an Ayurvedic formulation in herbal ghee form. This preparation has ghee as its base. It is used for preparatory procedure for Panchakarma and also as medicine. Dadima refers to pomegranate.
• Dadima is the main ingredient of this formulation. It is also known as Dasdimadi Ghrit, Dadimadi ghritam, Dadimadi Ghritham etc.

PROCEDURE
Take all medicines and pounded well separately.
Mix them together and made kalka.
Take 120 ml ghritha in steel vessel and add kalka and water.
Heat it in mild fire till it attains sneha siddhi lakshanas.
After attaining paka filter and stored in air tight container.

PRECAUTIONS
Agni should be mandhagni
Kalka choorna should be finely powdered.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE OF DADIMADI GHRITHAM Dadimadi Ghritham has less result in iron deficiency anaemia, but effective for
vitamin deficiency anaemia.
It can increase absorption of iron and other nutrients from intestine and has prokinetic action in GIT.
It can be recommended for ante-natal care especially for those ladies having difficult labour in previous delivery
It can also improve the chances and ease of normal delivery
It can be used for snehapana purpose in pandu
It doesn’t cause increase in Pitta

Methods and materials: Total 35 subjects suffering from anaemia in pregnancy were selected. Dadimadi ghrita with dosage of10 ml was administered orally, at morning empty stomach with a cup of warm water for 30 days. This was open labelled randomized uncontrolled clinical trial.
Results: Clinical observations in general symptoms of garbhini pandu (anaemia in pregnancy) have revealed that percentage of relief, out of 35 subjects, 16 subjects have up to 51-75 % relief followed by 8 subjects up to 76-100 % and then 11 subjects up to 26-50 %. Abo0ut Hb %, there was difference of 1 gm% in 15(42.86%), up to 1.5 gm% in10(28.57%), up to 0.5 gm% in 5(14.28%), more than 2 gm% in 3(8.57%).
Conclusion: This study has revealed that dadimadi ghrita has good effect on anaemia in pregnancy. As well this drug has illustrated good effect on agni (digestive power) and nourishment of pregnant woman without any side effects to foetus and pregnant woman.
DISCUSSION
• There are 5 ingredients in dadimadi ghrita-• Out of 5 ingredients 2 are vatahara - 40 percent vatahara property• Out of 5 ingredients 1 is pittahara - 20 percent pittahara property• Out of 5 ingredients 1 is kaphahara - 20 percent kaphahara property• Out of 5 ingredients 1 is tridoshahara- 20 percent kaphahara
property.• By all above properties it works as dipana ,swashaghna, and
vatnulomana. Also pacifies diseases like pandu, gulma and arsha etc.
CONCLUSION • {ÉÉhbÖ÷MÉÖ±¨ÉɶÉÇ: - can be used in pandu gulma and arsha• nùÒ{ÉxÉÆ ·ÉɺÉEòɺÉPxÉÆ ´ÉÉiÉÉxÉÖ±ÉÉä¨ÉxɨÉÂ- it works
as dipana ,swashaghna, and vatnulomana• nÖù:JÉ|ɺÉÊ´ÉxÉÒxÉÉÆ SÉ ´ÉxvªÉÉxÉÉÆ SÉ |ɶɺªÉiÉä- good
for the women who has history of more labour pains, and those who are not conceiving.
• To conclude it can be used as medicine and also in preparatory procedure called snehakarma, for the treatment of anaemia, piles, spleen diseases, cough and asthma.It is also used in the treatment of infertility in women.In pregnant mother, it is given to improve the chances and ease of normal delivery.
