The International Cycling Tour of Bulgaria runs since 1924and had 60 editions.

It has a high rankand attracts top athletesfrom many continental andNational Teams from Europe,Asia, USA & South America.

It is the oldest cycling tour on the Balkans, and even older than the Vuelta a España.

The 61st edition will starton the 11th of Sep. 2011

in Sofia and finish on the 18th

It will run for over 1 000 kms.across 8 host towns and will

pass by numerous cities.

Last year more than 120Athletes of 21 teams from

9 countries and 4 continents competed.

Apart from the GC (General Classification) riders compete in thesprints and the climbs. The best rider under the age of 23 is awarded a

white jersey. The jerseys are presented daily on an official ceremonybefore the start of each stage.

Each jersey (yellow – overall leader, green – sprinter, polka dot – climber)Has its own sponsor(s).

2011 is an important year for qualifications for London 2012
