ARTSADMIN’S TWO DEGREES: ART AND ACTIVISM, CLIMATE AND CUTSFollowing the first festival in 2009, this year Artsadmin’s Two Degrees takes place from 12-18 June in and around our Toynbee Studios home. The events in the festival sit between art and activism – from an artist-run hair salon exchanging haircuts for conversations, to a pop-up restaurant aiming to help eradicate the American Signal Crayfish from the UK.

ARCOLA GREEN SUNDAYS Arcola Green Sundays provide an informal and friendly meeting place for people to explore environmental issues through film, music, theatre, poetry and discussion – a chance to celebrate, question and propose different ways of viewing the world and exploring new visions of the future. Events take place every three months at Arcola Theatre, with an inspirational theme to explore each time.

To kick off Artsadmin’s Two Degrees festival we’ve teamed up with Arcola Green Sundays for a day spent using our favourite form of green transport, with a host of artist-led bicycle and environmentally themed activities.
Events leave from both venues throughout the day – arrive early to sign up for your favourite, have a bite to eat in the cafes, and take part in drop-in workshops including training sessions for cyclists, bike repair and chances to customise your bike. Push tired knees to the limit in our celebratory Rollapaluza bike party at the end of the night.
Keep an eye out for Magnificent Revolution whose B.R.U. (Bicycle Reconnaissance Unit) will be cap-turing the fun throughout the day.
