CyberLink Computing Cloud Archive Tool for IBM DataPower B2B
Monitor DataPower B2B metadata from multiple DataPower instances in a modern web browser interface
IBM’s DataPower B2B Gateway is a robust B2B solution
that supports a wide range of B2B and file transfer protocols.
The solution has a very basic at-a-glance B2B transaction
viewer which was designed to allow customers to see the
status of all transactions that flow through the B2B Gateway
Service. Unfortunately, the IBM DataPower B2B viewer
was not designed for long retention periods nor does it
perform well when you need to retain more than 700,000
transactions. This means that many DataPower B2B
customers outgrow the on-board B2B Viewer within a year
and either must shorten their retention periods or build
something outside of DataPower to monitor the transactions.
Additionally, the on-board viewer only has visibility of
transactions in a single DataPower instance meaning that
when using DataPower in an Active/Active High
Availability cluster you need to look in two or more places
to see your transactions.
CyberLink Computing LLC, an IBM
Business Partner, has designed a cloud
based solution that allows customers to not
only see all of the transactions that they
archive out of DataPower but also supports
an automated archive process that can push
all completed B2B transactions out of
DataPower on a scheduled process giving
users near real-time access to runtime data
in the Cloud Archive Tool.

Deployment
This solution is designed to run as a SAAS service in a secured public cloud environment.
❖ Cloud Solution (SAAS)
• Encrypted storage
• Designed for performance
• Automatic scaling
Access and Connection Security
The web interface uses SSL to ensure the connection is secure and user/group access controls to make sure
transactions and accounts are only visible for people with the proper authentication and authorization credentials.
The Admin user for a given account can create other users from the administration screen and can authorize them
to use specific functions or only see specific information based on role.
API Keys are generated and used in the application to identify the DataPower instance being used; it acts as the
unique identifier and secret token for authentication into the service for the purpose of uploading archive data.
This key is used in the Archive Directory URL in the DataPower B2B Gateway Archive tab allowing automated
upload of Archive information based off the archive settings.

Viable as a replacement for the IBM DataPower B2B Viewer
The Cloud Archive Tool was originally designed to view DataPower B2B historical data utilizing the Archive
files that customers have exported and stored off device. However, due to requirements from DataPower B2B
customers to replace the DataPower B2B Viewer, the ability to make the solution more real-time and support for
transaction resends for both inbound and outbound payloads was added to the solution. This is done using a few
processing rules to trigger the DataPower Archive Now feature on a specified polling interval (i.e. 30 seconds)
and to process resends. These policies are provided by CyberLink Computing and they can easily be imported
into DataPower without impacting existing services. When the Archive Now process is triggered it will leave
any in-flight transactions on DataPower and only push out completed transactions; all transactions pushed to the
CyberLink Computing Cloud Archive Tool are removed from the DataPower B2B Viewer keeping it clutter free
showing only in-flight transactions and transactions waiting to be archived.
Customizable Document Search and Retrieval
The Cloud Archive Tool has a very robust transaction viewer that allows the user to re-order any column, sort on
any column and turn on/off any column they want to see; the rearrangement will be saved upon log off and used
again when you log back on. Additionally, any column can be used as search criteria and your search’s can be
saved and stored in your profile. The transaction view also allows you to drill down into the detail of the
transaction.
Resend transactions from CyberLink Computing’s Cloud Archive Tool
The resend capabilities allows you to manually resend any transaction to your partner or to your back-end. The
transaction is proxied through the DataPower instance that routed the original transaction so any partner that is
using a firewall white list will not reject the transaction and inbound transactions are sent into your network over
a trusted connection. Resends are queued up and sent asynchronously and monitored in the Resend Queue
Monitor. Manual resend historical data is also available in the transaction viewer.

Reports
The Cloud Archive Tool allows you to instantly export viewer data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to make
it easy to use the data in your own reporting solution. Additionally, you can use our canned reports which will
allow you to see transaction information in a nice PDF Report format.
Ability to import historical data
The solution can be extended to support data from non DataPower sources. For instance, if you have IBM
WebSphere Partner Gateway archive files, these files could be imported into the tool and presented in the
transaction viewer with very little effort. CyberLink Computing offers migration services that can be used to
run a small data migration project to add your data to the Cloud Archive Tool. More information can be found
