CYBERSECURITY TRADE MISSION USA 3

1. Preface The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), AHP International and the German

American Chamber of Commerce, Pittsburgh Chapter, have organized a delegation of German cybersecurity

companies for the collaboration with and business development in the United States from November 13 to

November 18, 2016.

Market potential in the sector of cybersecurity The United States of America are the biggest market of information and communication technology of the world.

This is accompanied by a very high self-sufficiency and a highly advanced digitalization in the sectors of government

and administration, in business between companies and in business with consumers. The IT security market of the

United States is open for innovative solutions and concepts of foreign partners. The largest part of users of IT-security

is located on the populous east coast corridor from Boston via New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. up to

Richmond, VA as well as the Midwest around Chicago. Since Pittsburgh is the “secret capital” of cybersecurity on

the East coast because of its many companies like the security division of Google, that offer perfect solutions

especially in financial economy for German provider, it is the first destination for the German trade partner. The

second destination is with the government and administration Washington D.C. Partners for this project are CyLab at

Carnegie Mellon University and the National Cyber-Forensics & Training Alliance.

Program

The program includes an all-day presentation in Pittsburgh where the capability of the German sector is introduced and

the German participants present their products and services to companies, administrations, organizations, institutions

and other American multipliers of the information technology and cybersecurity sector with professional inte rest. The

most important part of the business trip is the meetings for every individual participant with specifically researched and

qualified potential affiliates in Pittsburgh, Washington D.C. and further locations in the US. The individual business

meetings typically take place in the office of the US company. The German participants can reach business partners

located on the east coast or in Chicago, if necessary. The journey will be framed by a joint framework program with

visits from cybersecurity ins titutions and companies in Pittsburgh and Washington D.C., as well as a cybersecurity

roundtable with the involvement of the German embassy and representation of Association of German Chambers of

Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and Federation of German Indust ry (BDI).

2. Participating German Companies akquinet AG

As an end-to-end service provider we offer a broad range of IT and IT-related services including Business

Consulting. akquinet has specifi cally developed SAST (System Audit and Security Toolkit) GRC Suite for SAP® for you to counteract cyber risks. The increasing complexity of SAP® system landscapes and faulty configurati ons can lead frequently to serious

security vulnerabilities. Installing new soft ware components also poses the risk of overlooking security vulnerabilities. With standard administrati ve features the risks for a company are barely manageable. However, not only your IT systems and your company’s economic existence are at risk: Managing directors, boards of

management and executives can be held responsible for damage arising from inadequate security control. SAST GRC Suite offers:

All criti cal system activities are monitored and assessed on a cross-client basis in real time Checks are carried out across the whole system. SAP® authorizati ons and setti ngs for the operating system, database and system parameters are checked

and monitored.

The KikuSema GmbH/AB identifies future challenges of cybersecurity and transmits them into IT security applications. The security app FabulaRosa is designed to create High Definition (HD) passwords by visualization.

The Five New Protocols as an augmentation of FabulaRosa were developed to overcome current issues within the authentication process. The fifth protocol is named "Scrambled Secrets". Scrambled Secrets enables to scramble and unscramble secrets.

This can be combined by using a Multi Instance Mode. An essential property of Scrambled Secrets is to create one or more keys using an innovative graphical interface and the extremely good memorability. Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is a cabinet-level ministry of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its central priority is to lay the foundations for economic prosperity in Germany and to ensure that this prosperity is spread broadly throughout the population. Bringing the social market economy to new life, ensuring

sustainable progress as well as social cohesion can therefore be seen as the central causes of the politics of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The need to take concrete and political action leads to different objectives, which form a guideline: framework for

digitalization, strengthen investment, social coherence and integrating refugees in the best way possible. This is done to make progress with energy transition, develop European economic and monetary union and to continue opening the markets across Europe.
