Music Contract
I will attend all performances and rehearsals. Excused absences will have an
opportunity to earn up to 100%. Unexcused absences will be entered as a 0% and will
also result in one letter grade lower than the final percentage grade for the semester.
Unexcused absences due to the result of ineligibility will only be recorded as a 0%.
Percentage grades for performances and rehearsals will be determined by various
factors (behavior, quality of performance, uniform appearance, etc.).
Class attendance is of utmost importance… Ten (10) absences will result in an
automatic “NG” for the semester. Poor attendance will also affect your ability to
attend any and all trips.
The band/choir comes first and foremost. I will always give 100% effort!
I will make sure that I have all the parts of my uniform (shirt, socks, shoes, etc.).
Use of alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, weapons, sexual misconduct, breaking rules or
school rules may be cause for removal from band/choir with an “F” for the semester.
I will be on time for class, rehearsals, and performances. On-time means being ready
to go when the class, performance call, or rehearsal starts.
Talking / obnoxious behavior will lower my conduct grade and my semester grade.
Since it is a privilege to travel with the band/choir, I MUST have an “S” or better in
conduct for this class!
I am encouraged to audition for Honor band/choir, Allstate band/choir (Freshmen
Band members must participate in DHS marching band in order to be eligible for
Honor/Allstate Band) and to perform at the Solo & Ensemble Festivals (this will help
to improve your grade).
I have read and agree to abide by the Music Department Handbook & the CVMS
Handbook.
I have read the above statements and have agreed to accept them. Failure to follow any of the above
statements will lead to a lower grade & may have you removed from the Band/Choir.
