Social skills and competences Team spirit: I have developed this skill to head my Ph. D. project, to be the coordinator of my post-doctoral research, to lead the technicians of the private analytical laboratory, and even in diving groups where safety is always involved. Organisational skills and competences Team leader to train and coach the staff (8 persons) and develop a sustainable high tech laboratory on a remote site in Lao PDR. This lab. was a joint venture between EDF and NTPC to monitor the physico-chemical water quality to fulfil NTPC’s Concession Agreement obligations, and to participate in scientific research focussed on greenhouse gas budget, within a collaboration between EDF and Toulouse University (France). Project manager integrating interactions between the analytical laboratory (10-12 persons), the sample collection department (4-5 persons) and the marketing and trade services (3-4 persons) of a private company. Chemistry in solution and under vacuum. Blowing of Pyrex and/or quartz glass, mainly to seal samples into a capsule under vacuum. Isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS): hydrogen, carbon and chlorine isotopic ratio measurements with Finnigan Delta E, V. G. Optima and Thermo-Finnigan DeltaPlus XP. Gas chromatography (filled columns or capillary ones), used alone (GC-FID and GC-ECD) or coupled (GC-FTIR and GC-IRMS) for the separation, then the chemical identification or the isotopic measurement of each compound of the initial mixture, or for the purification of one compound before its isotopic ratio determination. Ion chromatography (HPLC) for major anions and cations determination in water samples. Automated Total Organic Carbon Analyzer (TOC) by combustion and IR spectrophotometry, and Automated Mercury Analyzer (AMA-254) by combustion and UV spectrophotometry. Chemical multi-elemental analysis by electron micro-probe (EMPA), transmission electron microscope (TEM with X-ray diffraction analysis (EDX)), and isotopic analysis by ion micro-probe (SIMS). Optical spectroscopy by ICP-AES and FAAS for chemical identification of trace-elements (mostly heavy metals) occurring in various matrixes (aqueous solutions, paints, dusts, soils). Optic spectroscopy for mineralogical identification and transmitted infrared spectroscopy (GC-FTIR) for chemical identification or for water and carbon content measurements (microscopy-FTIR).
