Experiences and capabilitiesOver the years I have had the privilege to participate inorganizations and individuals processes against beingreal powerful initiators, able to make the rightdecisions, even in demanding collaborative situations.The processes of getting a higher capacity ofoperational excellence and leadership consist of manydimensions but in the end it is all about four areas of“Knowing”. Knowing the “right stuff” about the worldaround us. Knowing each other (individuals, cultures,organizations etc.). Knowing how to do it (methods,plans etc.) And finally Knowing how technology canmake us “able” in our modern world! I haveparticipated in all of those “knowing dimensions” in allpossible phases during the years.

I am now looking forward to continue my work in astimulating environment, interacting with prospectivebusinesses and organizations, evolving different kindsof operations. I have the ability to participate in shapingthe new requirements and “set” the new organizations.I'm good at pursuing evolution of various types ofprocesses, methodologies and supporting tools,based on the overall needs derived from a holisticperspective. To generally support and participate in achange that gives the benefits of a high capacityoperational excellence and leadership is verystimulating!

Areas of competence:Operational and strategic support:I have years of experience from evolutionaryprocesses in different operational managementsituations and in various types of organizations. I holdthe ability to lead methods development and to“translate” the needs arising from new approachesand new demands into practical support needs. Ofcourse, I have during my years “in the field” gathered avast amount of knowledge of the society as a “system“with all its defined concepts, organizations, interactionareas, geographical and sector wise dividedresponsibilities, etc.

Infrastructure/technology:Robust infrastructure and supportive IT based tools istoday a prerequisite for almost any degree of“operational excellence”. We are certainly today livingin a real exciting time giving new possibilities almostevery day. Participation in advanced Research &Development (R&D) projects and development foroperational support, general situation awareness,information flows, early detection, situation analysis,collaborative decision making etc. has made meexcited over upcoming possibilities in our near future.The primary target for all of this work has been thesociety with all of its levels and sectors in general but Ihave also been working in securing flows andenvironments within critical nodes such as airports,harbors, large terminals, large cities etc.

Leadership and social skills:In order to describe my leadership skills it is maybesimplest to quote Mary Parker Follet in her statementfrom 1924, she said:

"Leadership is not defined by the exercise of power butby the capacity to increase the sense of power amongthose who are led. The most essential work of theleader is to create more leaders.“

This principle is important to me and there is a lot tosay about accomplishing such an effect with itssubsequent stimulating environment. I hope you willdiscuss and “unfold” this domain together with me in anear future!

According to others I am an social skilled and wellarticulated person. I myself enjoys new “meetings” andI don’t mind the individuals and groups I am interactingwith being different from me, belonging to othercultures or working within different subject fields etc. Itis experiencing new things that makes us evolve. I amfor instance used and stimulated by working in socalled triple helix forums pursuing development from aholistic societal perspective.

EmploymentsSOS Alarm 1988-08-2001-12:Dispatching officer with the responsibility of managingemergency forces from the three main blue forcedisciplines, ambulance, fire and police.

Saab AB 2001-12 - Ongoing:Senior Advisor, National Security and SituationAwareness. Saab is constantly changing, therefore mytasks have been various. I have been assuming roles,working within the areas, project management,operational management, long-term strategic planning,business development, sales directory, advisoryconsulting, etc.

Undergraduate school:1983 08-1985 06 Two years of secondary school studies.(Katedralskolan Växjö)

SOS Alarm Training School:1988-1999 Special training for being a SOS DispatchOfficer. Including, medic care, fire fighting, lawenforcement, interview techniques, role taking andreactions in complex situations and within managementof “the same”, the risks and structures in a modernsociety from local operational levels up to governmentalstrategic levels, etc.

The University of Växjö:1999 08-2002 05 Engineering in Computer Science(Candidate / BSC Bachelor of Science ComputerEngineering) 130p

Miscellaneous:

Project management courses (mainly PPS).

Metaplan moderation technique course.

A range of courses dealing with human role taking andbehaviors in complex situations.

Participation in a number of courses and seminars in thearea of: Situation awareness, Situation detection andanalysis, Collaborative and coordinated decision making,Social medias, Modern and future technologies in achanging world etc.

A selection of assignments:1988-2001. Working as a everyday crisis manager anddispatching officer, handling everything from minoraccidents to larger catastrophes gave me the ability toknow much about the demands of securing the societyand the flows within the society both from a generalperspective but also within different sectors. It also gaveme vast experiences about what is important in thecommunication between humans in complex situationswhich is utterly relevant in the world of today. One lessonthat I have learned is also to update my awareness aboutthe world and the prerequisites constantly! The world andthe people in it are changing in a pretty fast pace.

2001 A Bachelor of Science Degree Thesis: “Robustcommunication and IT services for important “criticalusers”.”

2003 - Ongoing. Project manager in severalimplementation projects of collaborative systems in anumber of geographic and operational areas.

2004 - Ongoing. Participation in the development ofSaabs collaboration and management “portfolio”, fromthe extreme field level all the way to national andinternational levels.

2006-ongoing. Participation in development forsecuring flows and the environment withincritical transport nodes as harbors, airports,cities etc.

2005-2006 Participation and projectmanagement in different analysis tasksregarding the hurricane “Gudrun's” secondaryimpacts in different levels.

2006-2010 Project Manager of the SwedishEmergency Management Agencies project“DEGEL”. An R&D project regarding capabilitiesfor: Management and collaboration in criticalsituations, Securing flows (including informationflows), Early detection and situation analysis,Collaborative decision making, Social medias,Mobile medias and services, New ways ofpresenting, using and filtering data etc. DEGELis a project for securing flows and findingindicators that tells us the actual state of thecommunity in all with all of its sectors. How canwe keep aware of that state and handlecomplex situations as effective as possible?How can we make the flows secure and add asense of higher safety to the citizens?
