Presenting Cutwater Boats for 2011; two sensational family cruisers, each delivering a combination of performance, comfort, style and value that no other boat in its class can match. Both vessels boast the landmark Cutwater Keel Stepped Hull design for unexcelled ride comfort, performance, handling and fuel economy, and both feature the timeless appeal of classic down-east styling.

Their innovative interior layout offers unusually generous headroom to produce an onboard envi-ronment that’s as comfortable as it is functional. The deck plan on both the 26 and 28 foot models includes an enclosed master stateroom, a private berth compartment, plus a convertible dinette that together allow sleeping accommodations for up to six. Large cabin windows, two foredeck hatches and four overhead hatches in the main cabin help brighten all interior spaces while they provide a panoramic view of the passing scenery; windows and hatches open for ventilation.

Every detail, every feature on each Cutwater model has been carefully integrated into a seagoing environment that’s ideal for family cruising, designed to make the voyage as enjoyable as the destination.

The forward stateroom, with its convertible V-berth, television and private head with

shower, offers exceptional privacy and comfort. The C28 adds the convenience of a mini-galley in this space, complete with sink and microwave to create a welcoming after-hours retreat…or a separate hideaway for the kids.

Both models include a self-bailing innerliner cockpit that’s ideal for fishing or relaxing at anchor. A solid gate offers access to a custom transom platform with integral boarding ladder for watersports or easy access to tender or dock, and there’s a reversible seat integrated into the transom. With nearly 16 square feet of additional deck area, the cockpit on the Cutwater 28 also includes built-in cabinets for refreshments and extra storage volume, plus space for extra deck chairs.

Single-engine diesel power and the exclusive Cutwater Hull design combine to deliver admirable cruise speeds, and exceptional fuel economy to maximize range. Standard bow and stern thruster make docking a breeze. And both the 26 and 28 are trailerable, for quick, convenient access to distant cruising waterways.

No other boat in this size range comes close to the design advancements embodied in the new Cutwater fleet. Your Cutwater dealer has details on what the next generation of cruisers can do for your family.

A radical departure from conventional deep-

V hull geometry, the revolutionary new

Cutwater Hull design incorporates a number of

features that together deliver a smooth ride,

straight tracking, agile, responsive performance,

and maximum fuel economy. With all these

advantages, each Cutwater model offers the

range to expand everyone’s cruise horizons

while providing exceptional comfort underway.

Foremost among these features is the Keel

Stepped Hull bottom with tapered intake

tunnels to distribute an uninterrupted flow of air

evenly across specifically designated segments

of the running surface, while vectoring air away

from the propeller.

A keel pad runs the full length of the bottom to

concentrate lift and adds directional stability.

The entire tunnel-step-keel pad configuration

employs a consistent distribution of air along

the bottom to reduce drag for a measurable

improvement in hull speed and fuel efficiency.

A substantial skeg keel extends along the aft-

most third of the hull, to improve straight-line

tracking for efficient course-keeping, and to

resist rolling for greater ride comfort. Addition-

ally, this keel protects the propeller and running

gear against damage from submerged hazards.

Along either side of the keel where it meets

the bottom is a rounded shoulder where the

machinery compartment has been expanded

to allow positioning the engine low in the hull.

This in turn lowers the boat’s center of grav-

ity for greater stability, and allows lowering the

main deck structure to provide greater interior

headroom while preserving the boat’s attractive

exterior profile.

Well forward, the raked stem curves downward

near the waterline to a slender, near-vertical

forefoot that cuts oncoming waves to ensure

a smooth ride. This nuance also extends the

waterline to improve fuel efficiency, and allows

fuller sections throughout the forward hull sec-

tions for greater useable interior space. To-

gether, these refinements enable the Cutwater

hull to deliver an ultra-smooth ride and superior

performance, plus an extra measure of comfort

and convenience, adding up to unexcelled cruis-

ing enjoyment.

Introducing Cutwater Boats. a New Name with a Long History

A recent arrival to the family boating arena, the Cutwater brand brings with it a new way

of thinking about how cruisers ought to deliver a complete—and completely enjoyable—boating experience. And like all meaningful innovation, that new thinking is based on a wealth of experience and a proven record of significant achievement in the design and construction of recreational boats.

Cutwater Boats produces two single-inboard models, each a contemporary interpretation of the classic downeast style, offering exceptional interior volume, a long list of standard features, and a revolutionary new hull form that combines a range of hydrodynamic design elements to deliver superior ride comfort, speed, economy, range and handling characteristics. And for all their onboard attributes, each Cutwater model is trailerable, to bring even distant waterways within easy reach.

As a division of Fluid Motion, LLC, manufacturer of the popular fleet of Ranger Tugs, Cutwater Boats offers complementary styling and performance, built to the same high standards of quality that have earned Fluid Motion a position of leadership in the boating industry, to provide cruising families a broad spectrum of choices in size, style and configuration. Count on the experience and resources of Fluid Motion to drive the emergence of Cutwater Boats as a favored choice among those who recognize an exceptional value when they see it.
