Cut-it 6.2 – free upgrade for 6.x

1. New Freehand move possible in Cut-it Editor The tool is intended for use in combination with creation of simple shapes, ‘last minute’ editing, positioning of extra trimming lines etc. When selecting one or more curves to moved, the user will be warned that it will influence registration – this to help avoid problems of mis-registration as a result of unintended editing.

The Freehand move tool is included in the Editor.

2. New Step & Repeat feature in Cut-it A useful function for quickly copying and stepping of curves for cutting.

Select the curve and click ‘Step & Repeat’ to get this dialog:

3. New overcut feature in Cut-it This feature is helpful for certain materials and designs to make sure corners are completely cut. Sometimes the quality and result can be improved by adjusting the cut in corners to exceed its natural design or to ‘over cut / overlap’ the start and stop points on irregular shapes, circles etc. The feature applies for all cutting tools in the media settings alongside the other parameters.

4. Support for Surface Compensation from Cut-it The feature is relevant for certain routing jobs – especially engraving rely on the substrate and cutter surface to be very flat and even – in order to obtain best engrave quality. Version 6.2 of Cut-it can use the Zünd G3 feature ‘Surface Compensation’ – where the router measures / maps out the surface prior to the engrave/routing process. The measured / mapped data is applied while engraving to compensate any unevenness on the top surface. To use this feature, it must be activated from the media manager.

5. Support for the new Eye-in-the-Sky Load table A new extension table is made available as an option to Zünd G3 cutters for the purpose of cutting jobs from the backside, the print facing down. The load table uses EIS technology to capture fiducial and registration marks from underneath through a glass plate. With this table there is no need for flip-flopping the sheets, use edge registration or manually punch out registration holes to perfectly finish backside jobs.

6. Support for new VCT angles Version 6.2 supports the control of the additional VCT angles 5 and 10 degrees. Angle settings are added in the media profile identical to those existing ones.

Supported angles: 0, 5, 10, 15, 22.5, 30 and 45 degrees.

7. Support for new PCT tool The new Pressure Cut Tool is fully supported with Cut-it 5.2. The tool is included in the tool list and will be selected in the same way as any other tool insert to UM-modules.
