Some urgentmessages cannot be cleared fromthe DIC display.Check Engine or OtherWarningLights with OnStar® (if equipped)If your Check Engine light, or anyother warningmessage appears,you can push the blue OnStarbutton and speak to a live advisor.OnStar Advisors can access certaindiagnostic information and can tellyou how serious the problem is,what you should do about it, or cancontact a dealer or Roadside servicefor you. Refer to the OnStar OwnerGuide for details.

ComfortMANUAL SEAT ADJUSTMENTS(Passenger side only)Use the bar at the front of the seatto adjust seat position. Use the leverat the side of the seat to raise orrecline the seatback.

Power Seat AdjustmentsUse the horizontal control (A) to:• Move the seat forward or

rearward by sliding the controlforward or rearward.

• Move the seat up or down bymoving the entire control upor down.

• Raise or lower the front or rearpart of the seat cushion bymoving the front or rear of thecontrol up or down.

SeatbackAdjustmentsUse the vertical control (B) to:• Recline the seatback by tilting the

top of the control rearward.• Bring the seatback forward

by tilting the top of thecontrol forward.

POWER LUMBAR (If equipped)

The power lumbar switch is locatedbeneath the power seat switchcontrols. Hold the control forwardor rearward to increase ordecrease support.

HEATED SEATS (If equipped)The following heated seat controlsare located on the front doors:

(Heated Seatback): Pressthis button to turn on theheated seatback.

(Heated Seat and Seatback):Press this button to turn on theheated seat and seatback.There are three heated seattemperature settings (high,mediumand low). Continue to press the

desired button to decrease thetemperature setting.To turn off thefeature, press the button until allindicator lights are off.

MEMORYSEAT ANDMIRRORS(If equipped)Thememory seat controls arelocated on the front doors.Memory RecallPress memory button 1 or 2 to recallthememory settings for the driver’sseat, outside mirrors and adjustablepedals. Thememory seat settingalso can be programmed to berecalled automatically usingthe DIC.To savememory settings:1. Adjust the driver’s seat, outside

mirrors and adjustable pedals toa comfortable position.

2. Press and hold button 1 or 2until two beeps sound.

3. Repeat these steps for asecond driver.

Easy Exit SeatWith the vehicle in Park (P), pressthe (Easy Exit Seat) button torecall the exit position for thedriver’s seat. Press the buttonagain tomove the seat backfarther.The easy exit seat alsocan be programmed tomoveautomatically using the DIC.

SECOND-ROW SEATAdjusting the SeatAn adjustment lever to move theseat forward or rearward is locatedunder each side of the 60/40 seat.After adjustment,move the seatback and forth tomake sure itlocks into place.

THIRD-ROWACCESSThe right side of the second-row60/40 seat has an easy entry feature

tomake it easier to get into and outof the third-row seat, if equipped.

To operate the easy entry seat:1. Pull the release lever located on

the top of the seat upward.2. Tilt the seatback forward

by pulling the top of theseat forward.

3. Pull upward on the release leverlocated on the back of the seatand rock forward until it stops.

POWERTHIRD-ROW SEAT(If equipped)The third-row seat includes apower-folding feature to provide

additional cargo space. Before theseat can be folded, the headrestsmust be removed and stored.Removing Headrests1. Press the button on top of the

seatback below the headrest andpull up on the headrest.

2. Open the storage compartmentcover behind the seat and insertthe headrest posts into the slotsin the storage area.

The seatback will not fold all theway down if the headrests arenot removed.Folding/Unfolding SeatBefore folding or unfolding thethird-row seat, all of the followingconditions must bemet:• The vehicle must be in Park (P)

and not have a low battery.• The liftgate or right-side rear

door must be open.

• The ignitionmust be in ON orACC. If not, pressing the Unlockbutton on the key fob or doorthree times will enable powerfolding or unfolding fortwominutes.

Two buttons are located on theright-side panel behind the second-row seat. One button (A) folds andraises the seat and another button(B) changes the seatback angle.The other button(C) for folding theseat is locatedinside the liftgate.

Press and hold either folding buttonto fold or unfold the seat.After the seat is folded, the panel onthe back of the seat must be flippedforward to create a flat floor space.Before returning the seat to itsupright position, the panel must bereturned to its folded position.

CHILD RESTRAINTS (LATCH)Your vehicle is equipped with LATCHanchors, andmay have top tethersfor use with a LATCH compatiblechild restraint. If your child restraintis not compatible with the LATCHsystem, youmay still use it byinstalling the child restraint withthe seat belt system.Choose a child restraint that isappropriate for the child’s ageand size (weight and height).See Section 1 of your OwnerManual for more information.

CLIMATE CONTROL

The dual-zone climate controlsystem can be operatedmanually orcan be set to automatically adjust tothe individual settings of the driverand front seat passenger.Automatic OperationIn the automatic mode, the systemadjusts the airflow, fan speed, airconditioning and recirculationfunctions to reach andmaintain theset temperature(s).To set the automatic mode:1. Turn the fan knob to the

AUTO position.2. Turn the airflow knob to the

AUTO position.3. Adjust the temperature to a

comfortable setting using thetemperature arrow buttons.

Manual OperationUse the following controls tooperate the systemmanually:

(On/Off): Press this button toturn the climate control system onor off.

(Fan):Turn the fan knob toincrease or decrease fan speed.

(Air Conditioning):Press the fanknob to turn the air conditioning onor off.Airflow Control:Turn the airflowcontrol knob to the followingpositions to change the direction ofthe airflow.

(Vent):Directs air to theinstrument panel outlets.

(Bi-Level):Directs air tothe instrument panel outletsand floor outlets.

(Floor):Directs air to thefloor outlets.

(Defog):Directs air to thewindshield, side window outletsand floor outlets.

(Defrost):Directs most of theair to the windshield and some airto the side window outlets.

(RearWindowDefogger): Pressthe airflow control knob to turn therear window defogger on or off.

⌃/ (Temperature Control): Pressthe arrow buttons next to the fanknob to adjust the driver’stemperature setting, and press thearrow buttons next to the airflowcontrol knob to adjust thepassenger’s temperature setting.

(Recirculation):Press thisbutton to recirculate inside air andkeep outside air from entering thevehicle. Recirculation will notfunction in defog or defrost mode.

PASS (Passenger’s Climate Control):Press this button to turn the frontpassenger’s climate control systemon or off.

REAR AIR CONDITIONING(If equipped)The rear air conditioning systemprovides air conditioning to thesecond- and third-row occupants.The system includes four air outlets:two over the outboard second-rowseats and twomore near the cargoarea or third-row seat (if equipped).The system can be controlled fromthe front overhead console or it canbe placed in the AUXmode to allowrear passengers to control thesystem from the second-rowoverhead console.

EntertainmentAUDIO SYSTEM

While most of the features on yourradio will look familiar, following aresome that may be new:

(Power/Volume): Press this knobto turn the system on or off. Turnthe knob to adjust the volume.

(Tune):Turn this knob to selectradio stations or,when a CD isplaying, to select a track or MP3 file.Press the knob to adjust the tonecontrol (bass/treble) or speakercontrol (balance/fade).

(Clock) or (Load) (if equipped):This button will be either the clock

button or CD load button,if equipped with themultiple-discCD player. Press the clock buttonto adjust the clock; or press theload button to load a single CD orpress and hold the button to loadmultiple CDs.

(Eject): Press this button onceto eject the currently playing CD;or, if equippedwith themultiple-discCD player, press and hold thisbutton to eject all CDs. If a CD isnot removed after several seconds,it will be pulled back into theplayer automatically.FAV (Favorite): Press this button togo through up to six pages of anycombination (AM, FM or XM™, ifequipped) of preset favorite radiostations. On each page, up to sixstations are available by usingthe six pushbuttons below theradio display.BAND: Press this button to switch toAM, FM or XM™ (if equipped).With

a CD loaded or a portable audioplayer connected, press this buttonto switch between radio and CD/portable audio player operation.CD/AUX: Press this button to play aCD instead of the radio. Press thebutton again to automaticallysearch for a device connected to theauxiliary input jack.MENU: Press this button to displaythe radio setupmenu.CAT (Category): Press this button tofind XM™ stations (if equipped)within a desired category.(Information): Press this button to

display additional informationrelated to the current function.

Notice: If you add any label to a CD, insertmore than one CD into the slot at a time,or attempt to play scratched or damagedCDs, you could damage the CD player.When using the CD player, use only CDs ingood condition without any label, loadone CD at a time, and keep the CD playerand the loading slot free of foreignmaterials, liquids and debris.

Setting Favorite StationsBefore setting your favorite stations,shift the vehicle into Park (P).

To set the number of favoritestation pages:1. Press theMENU button to display

the radio setupmenu.

2. Press the pushbutton locatedbelow the FAV 1–6 label on theradio display.

3. Select the desired number offavorite station pages.

4. Press the FAV button. Youmaynow begin storing your favoritestations for the chosen numberof pages.

To store favorite stations:1. Tune to the desired radio station.2. Press the FAV button to display

the page where the station isto be stored.

3. Press and hold one of the sixpushbuttons until a beep sounds.

4. Repeat the steps for eachpushbutton on each page.

Setting the TimeTo set the time:1. Press the (Clock) button. Or,

if equipped, press theMENUbutton; and then press thepushbutton located under theclock option label. The HR,MIN,MM,DD,YYYY labels will appearon the display.

2. Press the pushbutton under anyof the labels to be changed.

3. Press the pushbutton again orthe FWD button to increase thenumbers. Press the REV button todecrease the numbers. Rotatingthe (Tune) knob also willincrease or decrease theselected label.

4. Press the Clock or MENU buttonagain to set the currentlydisplayed time and date.

To set the time on the Navigationsystem, see your Navigationmanualfor additional operating instructions.

Note:Choosing to engage in extendedsearching for specific audio stations orsongs by using buttons and knobs — or togive extended attention to entertainmenttasks — can lead you to look away fromthe road frequently or longer than usual.Looking away from the road for prolongedperiods may cause you to miss seeingthings on the road that you need to see.Be sure to keep your eyes on the road andmind on the drive — and avoid engagingin extended searching for specific itemswhile driving.

Radio Data SystemWhen you tune to a Radio DataSystem (RDS) station, the stationname, call letters, program name, ora stationmessagemay appear onthe display instead of the frequency.RDS features are available for useonly on FM stations that broadcastRDS information. RDS relies onreceiving specific information fromthese stations and will work onlywhen the information is available.Auxiliary Input Jack

There is anauxiliary inputjack on the lowerright of theaudio systemfaceplate. Youcan connect anexternal audio

device using a 1/8 inch (3.5 mm)cable. Press the radio CD/AUXbutton to begin playing audio fromthat device.

TOUCH SCREEN NAVIGATIONENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM(If equipped)Your vehicle’s NavigationEntertainment System provides youwith detailed maps of most majorhighways and roads throughout theUnited States.The system providesturn-by-turn driving instructions foreach destination you enter.

In addition, the system can help youlocate a variety of points of interest,such as banks, airports, restaurantsandmore.

REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENTSYSTEM (If equipped)The Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE)system includes a DVD player,flip-up videoscreen, two2-channelwirelessheadphonesand a remotecontrol. Thesystem can becontrolledusing the RSEbuttons or theremote control.

To play a DVD:1. Turn on the ignition.2. Press the release button on the

DVD display console and pull upthe video screen.

3. Insert a DVD into the DVD slotin the radio. It will turn on thevideo screen and begin playingautomatically. It may be necessaryto press the Play button to startplaying themovie if the DVDstops at a menu screen.

4. To listen to the DVD through thevehicle speakers, press the SRCE(Source) button. Adjust volumeusing the radio volume control.To listen to the DVD through theheadphones, select channel 1 andpush the power button on theheadphones. Adjust volume usingthe headphone volume control.To listen to a Rear Seat Audiosource, select channel 2.

5. To control DVD playback, use theremote control or the DVDbuttons on the radio display.

6. To turn off the RSE system,press the power button on theRSE system, eject the DVD orpress the power button on theremote control.

To play a video game and usethe headphones, turn on the RSAsystem and press the SRCE buttonto select AUX. Select channel 2 onthe headphones.Driver Control of theEntertainment SystemThe driver has basic control of theentire audio/entertainment system.Press and hold the Power knob formore than two seconds to pause theradio, Rear Seat Audio, and Rear SeatEntertainment systems. Press thePower knob again to resume play.

Driving Directions and OnStar®Turn-by-Turn NavigationWhether you’re lost or want to getdirections to a location youmightnot be familiar with,OnStarAdvisors can give you drivingdirections. Some vehicles have theadditional ability to deliver directionsto you automatically as you drive byusing a system called Turn-by-TurnNavigation. OnStar Advisors cansend a planned route to your vehicleand as you approach roads you needto take, the turn instructions playover your vehicle’s speakers.For more information, refer to yourOnStar Owner Guide, or push yourOnStar button.

UNIVERSAL HOME REMOTE(If equipped)The Universal Home Remote is acombined universal transmitter andreceiver that can activate up tothree devices, such as garage dooropeners, entry door locks, gatesand security systems.

It’s recommended that you read theinstructions in your OwnerManualcompletely before attempting toprogram any of the three channelson the Universal Home Remote.Theengine should be turned off whenprogramming the remote.

ULTRASONIC REAR PARKINGASSIST (URPA)This feature helps you determinehow close an object is to your rearbumper. URPA operates only atspeeds less than 3mph (5 km/h)and detects objects at distancesbetween 5 ft. (1.5 m) and 1 ft. (.03m). Both a variable audible chimeand a visual display located abovethe rear window convey distance toan object.

ULTRAVIEW SUNROOF(If equipped)On vehicles equipped withUltraView sunroofs, the switchesare located in the overhead console.The left switch (A) operates thesunroof. Press the rear of the switchto the first detent to open partially,and press tothe seconddetent forexpress open.The expressfeature opensto a comfort stop. Press again toexpress-open all the way. Press thefront of the switch to the firstdetent to partially close, and pressto the second detent to express-close.The right switch (B) operates thesunshade. Press the rear of theswitch to open the sunshade.Press the front of the switch tothe first detent to partially close,and press to the second detent toexpress-close.

CRUISE CONTROLUse the Cruise Control for steadydriving on relatively straight,uncrowded roads.The controlsare located on the left side of thesteering wheel.

The controls function as follows:

(On/Off): Press this button toturn the cruise control system onor off.

+ RES (Resume/ Accelerate):Pressthis button to resume a set speed oraccelerate the vehicle.

– SET (Set/Coast): Press this buttonto set a speed or to decrease aset speed.

(Cancel): Press this button tocancel the set speed.

ADAPTIVE REMOTE STARTThis feature allows you to start theengine from outside the vehicle byusing the Remote Keyless Entrytransmitter. (Normal transmitterrange is within approximately200 ft. (60.9 m) of the vehicle.)You can also set the system toactivate the automatic climatecontrol, rear window defogger orseat temperature control.The engine will run for about10minutes before turning itself off,but can be extended 10minutesmore by performing anotherremote start sequence at any time.After two consecutive remote starts,no additional remote starts areallowed until the vehicle hasbeen started.The remote start systemwill notoperate if the hood or a door is open.

Starting the Vehicle1. Aim the transmitter at

the vehicle.2. Press and release the (Lock)

button on the transmitter.3. Immediately press and hold the

(Remote Start) button forabout four seconds.

4. When the vehicle starts, theparking lamps will light andremain on while the engine isrunning, and the doors will lock.

5. Repeat these steps for a10-minute time extension.

When you enter the vehicle after aremote start, insert the key andturn the ignition to ON/RUNbefore driving.Canceling a Remote StartIf you wish to turn off the engineinstead of driving after a remotestart, perform one of thefollowing functions:

• Press and hold the (RemoteStart) button until the parkinglamps turn off.

• Press and release the HazardWarning Flashers button insidethe vehicle. Press the button againto turn off the flashers.

• Turn the ignition switch on andthen off.

• The engine will automatically stopwhen time expires.

INSTRUMENT PANEL ANDCOURTESY LIGHTSTo brighten or dim the instrumentpanel lights, turn the (InteriorLights) knob on the left side of theinstrument panel. To turn on thecourtesy lights, turn the knobclockwise completely.Turn the knobcounterclockwise to turn off thecourtesy lights.

REARWASHER/WIPERThe rear washer/wiper control islocated in the overhead console.Press the rear part of the switch (A)for steady wipes.Press the center ofthe switch (B) towash the rearwindow. Press theforward part of theswitch (C) fordelayed wipes.

Performance &MaintenanceENGINE FUELIf your vehicle has the 3.6L V6engine, use regular unleadedgasoline with a posted octanerating of 87 or higher.If your vehicle has the 4.6L V8engine, use premium unleadedgasoline with a posted octanerating of 91 or higher. Youmay alsouse regular unleaded gasoline ratedat 87 octane or higher, but yourvehicle’s performancemay beslightly reduced.

TRANSMISSIONAutomatic OverdriveAutomatic Overdrive is best used fornormal driving. For furtherinformation regarding gearselection for various drivingconditions, refer to yourOwnerManual.

Driver Shift Control (DSC)/Sport ModeWhen Driver Shift Control (DSC) isactivated, your SRX® transmissionwill allow you to change gearssimilar to amanual transmissionfor more control. It will alsoprovide firmer shifting andincreased performance.To use DSC:1. Slide the shift lever over from

DRIVE (D) to the DSC position.The sport symbol in theDriver Information Centerwill illuminate.

2. Push the shift lever forwardto upshift or rearward todownshift. The intendedgear number will appear in placeof the odometer display.

TRACTION AND STABILITYTraction Control SystemThe Traction Control System comeson automatically every time you

start your vehicle.When one ormore of the drive wheels begin tospin from traction loss, the systemwill apply braking to the spinningwheel(s) andmay reduce enginepower until traction is regained.If your vehicle becomes stuck, androcking the vehicle is required, thesystem should be turned off.Press the buttonlocated on theconsole to turn thesystem off or back on.StabiliTrak® – StabilityControl SystemStabiliTrak is an advancedcomputer-controlled system thatassists with directional control ofthe vehicle during suddenmaneuversor low traction situations. It is normalto hear the systemworking, and thesystemwill automatically disengageCruise Control when activated.
