Curtis William Nulle Curtis William Nulle was born January 27, 1948, at Mitchell, SD, and was adopted by Fred and Fran Nulle. He attended school in Bath, SD, and was raised on a mink farm. He also was a bricklayer in the family business. He participated in basketball, baseball, and track. He liked to hunt and fish. He earned a scholarship in Journalism and attended South Dakota State University in Brookings. Curt finished his education in Wapheton, ND. He returned to the family business and was a bricklayer on many different jobs. He married Laurie Jean Berg at Bath, SD on March 5, 1976. Curt was employed by the South Dakota Game Fish and Parks Department in the Aberdeen area. He applied for the Chief of Police position in Ipswich and worked there from 1983 until 1988. The family moved to Belle Fourche and Curt was a police officer with the Belle Fourche Department from 1988 until he retired. Curt rescued many animals from the shelter and found good homes for them. Curt had too many "honey do's" at home so he went to work for the City of Sturgis as a police officer. He worked as a patrolman and as the primary animal control officer. He still enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. At the time of his death, he was training a tracking dog. Curt was a good friend, husband, dad, and grandfather. He helped anyone he could, joined clubs, and helped with benefits. Curt was always a people person. Curt, 64, Belle Fourche, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at his residence in Belle Fourche after a courageous battle with cancer. Survivors include his wife, Laurie Nulle, Belle Fourche; son, Clinton Nulle, Box Elder; two daughters, Kelly Nulle, Belle Fourche, and Nicole Ingle, Huron; and six grandchildren. Curt was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial has been established. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.kinkadefunerals.com.
