SUMMARY

I hold a PhD from the University of Guelph, Canada, MSc and BSc from the University of

Nairobi with over 40 years of experience in Agricultural research and extension and

Currently I am a Associate Professor of Horticulture at the University of Nairobi and

Chairman, Department of Plant Science and Crop Protection. I teach and conduct research and

outreach programs in Horticulture and Agriculture related and Gender Courses. and hold several

other positions such as the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, College

Representative, Lead Researcher and Principal Investigator of several projects at the African

Women Studies Centre among others.

Nationally and Internationally, I consult with many organizations ranging from Agriculture and

Food and Nutrition Security, Gender Mainstreaming in Agriculture, Leadership, governance and

Transformation.

I also currently serve an Associate Mentor, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences. I am

also member of several professional bodies such as the International Society of Horticultural

Science, African Crop Science Society, Horticultural Association of Kenya, Kenya Professional

Association of Women in Agriculture and Environment, the Agricultural Society of Kenya and

Institute of Directors.

I am a highly motivated, self-driven, results-focused person who is passionate about economic,

social and spiritual and societal transformation of individuals, persons, Country and the African

Continent.
