Founder (together with Marie Löwegren) of the Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship
at Lund University. The centre is based on a donation from the industrialist and business
angel Sten K. Johnson. The Centre involves education and research on entrepreneurship as
well as industry relations with relevance for entrepreneurship education and research.
Founding member of the Centre for Innovation, Research and Competence in the Learning
Economy (CIRCLE) at Lund University. CIRCLE conduct research on innovation and
entrepreneurship, and the centre is financed mainly by grants from VINNOVA, the Swedish
Science Foundation and Lund University.

Founder and Director of the Center for Venture Economics at Halmstad University, 1990-
1994. Center for Venture Economics was a research organization for research on
entrepreneurship and small business finance, and the Center involved about ten researchers
mainly from the Department of Business Administration at Halmstad University.
Founder (together with Bengt Johannisson at Växjö University) and Research Coordinator at
Scandinavian Institute for Research in Entrepreneurship (SIRE) 1994-1997. SIRE was an
intermediary research organization in the field of entrepreneurship and small business
research at the Department of Business Administration at Lund University, the School of
Management and Economics at Växjö University, and the Centre for Venture Economics at
Halmstad University. About 20 researchers and Ph D candidates were involved in the
organization. SIRE was financed by a grant from the Swedish Department of Education as
well as from research foundations like Ruben Rausing Foundation and Sparbanken Kronan
Research Fund.
Responsible for the “Research Platform on Entrepreneurship and Innovation” at Halmstad
University between 1998 and 2001. The “platform” was financed by a grant from the
Knowledge Foundation (KK-stiftelsen).
