EDUCATIONAL ENHANCEMENT ACTIVITIES
Volunteer to Big Sister Scholarship and Mentorship Program. This is scholarship/mentorship
program that required a professional woman adopting high school girls to support, monitor and

encourage. Essentially these girls are evaluated for their strengths and paired up with their “Big
Sister” who then will guide them to success. (2010 – Present).
Developed and coordinated Camp Connect, designed to encourage and inspire students to excel
in a science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) discipline, and specifically in
engineering specialty. Targeting 8th, 9th and 10th graders allows participants enough time in
their remaining high school years to best prepare for a college engineering curriculum. July
2012 to Present.
Coordinated SECME programs in UCF College of Engineering and Computer Science to
increase the pool of historically under-represented, under-served, and differently-abled students
who will be prepared to enter and complete post-secondary studies in science, mathematics,
engineering, and technology (STEM). SECME is a premier pre-college (K-12) alliance, that
links engineering universities, school systems, and corporate/government investors.
Participated in the Faculty Bridge Workshop, West Palm Beach, Florida. Presented a session
on “Networking for A New Minority Faculty.” Participated in the discussions on various topics
to help a new minority faculty to make the transition from graduate school to faculty position.
