Starting from scratch, I have developed a new analytical chemistry course as
selected course for the final level students entitled “Modern trends in analytical
chemistry” with a syllabus; Nanosensors – Microsensors – Robotics and Remote sensing
– Satellite chemical measurements – Safety of laboratories – ISO 17025 of laboratories.
RESEARCH INTEREST
1- Development of Miniaturized New Method of Analysis (Microchips).
2- Development of nano-composite materials based micro-sensors for detection of
some toxic and heavy metals in different real samples as well as some
pharmaceuticals in different drug formulations.
3- Development of novel electroanalytical methods of analysis for accurate and
precise determination of heavy metals, toxic metal and some elements of
environmental and industrial interests in real samples. These methods involve
preparations, characterizations and applications of Ion Selective Electrodes
(ISEs), potentiometric sensors, thin-film microsensors and hybrid microsensors.
4- Microfabrication of new highly selective organic membrane based thin-film
microsensors (microchips, Fig. 1) responsive for the some cations and anions
and their applications in Flow Injection Analysis (FIA).
5- I have developed a new technique (Arida Approach, Fig. 2) in the substrate
surface treatment in the realization of long-lived organic membrane based thin-
film micosensors. The merits of the new technique include dramatically
enhanced of the stability, life span and the microsensors integration in the
remote sensing and electronic tongue.
6- Microfabrication of Nano-composite based microchip.

7- Trace elements and heavy metals analysis in foods stuffs, herbal plants,
biological and environmental real samples using ICP-AES in combination with
microwave digestion system.
