Salient features of the IGNOU SAPET consultancy for Self Learning Material development
• Manpower requirement • Main coordinators = 05.• Number of program facilitators = 15. • Number of course facilitators = 451.• Number of course editors (Professors from IIT,
NIT, Govt. Engg College or Private college) = 451.
• Number of course writers = 1804.
• The self learning material development will be undertaken in different phases as follows.
• In Phase I: All common subjects (22 Theory + 07 Laboratory manuals)+ Bridge courses(07 Theory course) + Entry Level courses (50 Theory + 20 Laboratory Manuals).
• In Phase II: All remaining Theory and Laboratory Manuals.• Time schedule will be critical and needs to be followed
strictly.• Each student admitted to IGNOU engineering program will
have readymade Self Learning Material before starting of the program.
• Attempt will be made for use existing material from IGNOU / NPTEL for certain subjects. If content of the existing SIM is satisfactory, accordingly the cost will be reduced because the charges paid to course writers will not be as per given in proposal.
• The Self Learning Material will be edited by any of the Professor having PhD from IIT, NIT, Govt. Engineering College. In few subject if we don’t find expert from these organizations the editor will be identified from private Engineering college having PhD degree.
