• Article 14 Section 5 of the 1935 Constitution of the Philippines defines the aims and important role of education in the country.
• Article 15 Section 8 subsects 4 and 8 of the 1973 Philippine Constitution similarly identifies the aim of the national education, with a view of enhancing each citizen’s self realization and promoting Philippine society’s common welfare.

WHAT IS A CURRICULUM?
It is a written plan(degree, program, syllabus, textbooks, learning package or lesson, planned activities) which is prescriptive.

It is a written plan that is specific, prescriptive because it indicates the objectives, defines the scope and sequencing of the content, identifies the strategies of learning experiences, selects materials and describes the role of learners and teachers.
