- The initial communication on Join Crediting Mechanism (JCM) was started in 2012- Bilateral signing signing ceremony of Low Carbon Partnership between Kingdom of Cambodia and Government of Japan was held on 11 April 2014

3. Capacity Building Needs

Improving communication and information platform and network with local potential stakeholders,

Improving national GHG inventory system,

Establishing national registration and MRV system,

Conducting the current GHG mitigation policy and gap analysis and recommendation,

JCM is a win-win approach in context of climate change response, technology transfer, and economic and environmental sustainable development;

JCM is an effective and a comparative tool with NAMA in achieving GHG emission reduction as identified in country’s INDC;

JCM is aligned with low carbon development path way of the host country;

MoEJ decided to support one more JCM Model project for this fiscal year. The project location is in Phnom Penh International School by installing solar on the roof. In addition, JDI also conducted the JCM feasibility study on renewable energy at Bavet special economic zone with capacity of 5-6 MW.
