‗Tele-Law‘ scheme will be launched as a pilot across 500 CSCs in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Goods and Services Tax (GST) council lowered rates on 66 goods and services, including Insulin, schoolbags,

colouring books, construction items, pickles and mustard sauce. In a bid to promote regional cinema, cinema

tickets costing up to Rs. 100 will be taxed at 18% and ticket costing more than Rs. 100 at 28%. Indian Railways to induct 40,000 refurbished coaches by 2023, earmarks Rs 8,000 crore. The aim is to

make available 40,000 new look coaches in the railway fleet by 2023. Meghalaya state assembly unanimously passed a resolution opposing the Centre's notification banning the sale

and purchase of cattle at animal markets for slaughter and demanded its withdrawal as it would impact the

economy of the state and the food habit of its people. According to the Minister of state for AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik said that the Centre has approved

proposals for setting up of 100 Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH) hospitals across

the country. The Central Government will provide interest subvention of 5% per annum to all prompt payee farmers for

short term crop loan up to one year for loan up to Rs. 3 lakhs borrowed by them during the year 2017-18.The

Central Government will provide approximately 20,339 crore as interest subvention for 2017-18. Union Cabinet has approved the proposal to introduce a Financial Resolution and Deposit Insurance Bill,

2017.It will complement recently enacted the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 for the insolvency

resolution of non- financial entities. Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhu has launched Mission Retro-Fitment to enhance the passenger

experience by upgrading the existing fleet of coaches. Mission Retro-Fitment is a program of railways to

upgrade the level of furnishing & facilities in the coaches of Indian Railways. The mission aims to induct

about 40,000 coaches with upgraded interiors by 2022-23. 'Anuyatra‘, an empowerment programme for the differently abled launched by Kerala government. It aimed

at bringing the differently abled to the mainstream and making the state differently abled-friendly.

The Central Statistics Ministry is set to change the base year of national accounts to 2017-18 from 2011-2012.It is

set to change after completion of the household consumer expenditure survey and labour force data

transaction of Rs 50,000 and above. In this regard centre will amend the prevention of money laundering act. The Railway Ministry will launch "Operation Swarn" (swarn means gold in Hindi) to improve services in

Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express trains. Under the first phase, the Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express and

Mumbai-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express have been selected for upgradation, for which the work will start

from September 2017. Uttarakhand& Haryana has become the fourth Open Defecation Free (ODF) state in the country which was

announced Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar. Earlier, Himachal Pradesh,Sikkim and Kerala had declared

Indian Railways will start the final location survey of the 498 km long Bilaspur-Manali-Leh line at Leh in

The project looks to raise Rs 2,264 crore in five years. Municipal bonds are debt instruments through

Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, Harsimrat Kaur Badal inaugurated first Mega Food Park in the

provided a financial assistance of Rs. 50.00 Crore to the project. India‘s first ‗freight village‘ will be developed by the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) in

companies that require logistics services and can cluster to improve their competitiveness. Odisha to have first automatic coastal warning for disasters in India.Early Warning Dissemination System

(EWDS) project for natural disasters will be completed by July 31 said by Odisha Government On May 1st.

The system will be helpful in communicating tsunami and cyclone warnings to coastal population directly

from the State Headquarters. India's first public bicycle sharing project launched in Mysuru, Karnataka. A total of 450 bicycles can be

borrowed for a nominal fee from 48 automated docking stations.

Central government will be retrofitting 10 lakh conventional street lights with energy efficient LED lights in

Gram Panchayats of 7 districts in Andhra Pradesh. This will be India‘s first rural LED Street Lighting Project. A national human milk bank and lactation counseling centre known 'Vatsalya - Maatri Amrit Kosh' has

opened at Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi on June 6. It will be helpful to provide breast milk

to newborns and promote breastfeeding. Kolkata will launch an underwater Metro which will pass through tunnels several feet under the Hooghly.The

first underwater transportation tunnel of India is ready with the second one nearing completion. The tunnel

has been constructed 30 meters below riverbed. On June 17, 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Kerala's first metro line in Kochi. The Kochi

Metro is the first in India to use Communication Based Train Control technology to maximise frequencies and

Indore has become the first city in India where a robot is being used on an experimental basis to control

200 solar powered ATM sites in the last one year as part of its efforts to reduce carbon footprint and use

more clean energy. An agreement for IBRD Credit of USD 39.2 Million from World Bank for the project ―Assam Citizen Centric

Service Delivery‖ has been signed on 6th of June. The programme cost is 49-million dollar out of which 39.2-

order to facilitate immediate sharing of details about suspected black money. Swiss Federal Council said that

would happen in 2019. On June 15, 2017, Reserve Bank of India said India's current account deficit (CAD) narrowed during the last

fiscal due to a contraction in the country's trade deficit. CAD for fiscal year 2016-17 narrowed to 0.7% of the

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from 1.1 per cent in 2015-16 on the back of the contraction in trade deficit. The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) has notified the Fast Track Insolvency Resolution

World Bank‘s Board of Executive Directors has sanctioned a loan assistance of 44 million dollars for

the Assam State Public Finance Institutional Reforms (ASPIRe) Project. According to the second edition of Reserve Bank of India‘s (RBI's) statistical publication titled 'Handbook of

Statistics on States 2016-17‘, total gross fiscal deficits of Indian states shot up to Rs 4,93,360 crore in fiscal

2016 from Rs 18,790 crore in FY1991. Rajasthan with Rs 67,350 crore deficit in FY16 and UttarPradesh with Rs 64,320 crore deficit in FY16 accounted for the largest chunks in the total gross fiscal

deficits of Indian States.

launch complex-3 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur near Balasore in Odisha. India has successfully test-fired its first all-weather tracked-chassis Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air

Missile (QR-SAM) on 4th of June.The test was carried out for validating various parameters of the

sophisticated weapon system to strengthen its air defence system. Three Indian warships reached to Australia to participate in a week-long naval exercise off the Western

As per ‗Animal Discoveries 2016, New Species and Records‘, brought out by the Zoological Survey of India

and ‗Plant Discoveries 2016‘, by the Botanical Survey of India, 499 new species of animals and plants (313

species of animal and 186 of plants) have been discovered from various areas of India last year. According to a study published in the journal Nature the planet called KELT-9b is hotter than most stars.

KELT-9b is 2.8 times more massive than Jupiter, but only half as dense. Scientists have discovered a new species of flying squirrel in North America that had been hiding in plain

sight for hundreds of years. It is known as Humboldt's flying squirrel, or Glaucomysoregonensis. The new
