Brazil won (3-0) the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 against Spain in the final match for the third time. Fernando José Torres of Spain was awarded with the Golden Boot Award, while Fred of Brazil won the Silver Boot Award. The Bronze Boot Award was given away to Neymar. 29 June 2013 Indian Space Research Organisation’s scientists will establish navigation satellite system for India (IRNSS 1A). The project was estimated at a cost of 1420 crores rupees. The first of the IRNSS satellites is scheduled go into space aboard the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle on 1 July 2013. Anil Goswami, a Jammu and Kashmir cadre IAS

officer took over as the Union Home Secretary. He

succeeded Raj Kumar Singh and became first

bureaucrat from Jammu and Kashmir to be

appointed as Home Secretary.

Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has won the British

Formula One Grand Prix.

Brazil won (3-0) the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 against Spain in the final

match for the third time. Fernando José Torres of Spain was awarded with the

Indian Space Research Organisation’s scientists

will establish navigation satellite system for

India (IRNSS 1A). The project was estimated at a

cost of 1420 crores rupees. The first of the IRNSS

satellites is scheduled go into space aboard the

Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle on 1 July 2013.

India will host ICC World Twenty20 for the first

time in 2016 and its fourth 50-over World Cup in 2023 by ICC (International Cricket

Council), also got the chance to host the second edition of ICC World Test

P. Sathasivam was appointed as the next Chief Justice of

India. The 64 year old Sathasivam will succeed the

incumbent Chief Justice of India, Altamas Kabir, who will

superannuate on 18 July 2013 from his office. He became

the 40th Chief Justice of India and serves the nation till 26

April 2014.

INS Trikand was commissioned into the Indian Navy at Kaliningrad, Russia by Vice

Admiral R K Dhowan, the Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, Indian Navy.

1979 batch IAS officer Bimal Julka is appointed as the Secretary of Ministry of

Information & Broadcasting. He will succeed Uday Kumar Varma, who will retire

from his office on 30 June 2013.

European Union leaders on 28 June 2013 have signed a deal of a 1.3 trillion dollar

for seven-year budget from 2014-2020.

The book entitled Ziauddin Barni’s Tarikh-i-Firoz Shahi was released by the vice

president of India Hamid Ansari. The book is brought out by Rampur Raza Library,

Rampur (UP).

Union Cabinet of India gave its approval to the proposal for the GSAT-15

communication satellite project. The total cost involved in the project is 859.5 crore

rupees including launch services.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) cleared the proposal of

Department of Health Research under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for

the setting up of 10 Regional Labs, 30 State Level Labs and 120 Medical College

Level Labs under the scheme of Establishment of a network of Laboratories for

Managing Epidemics and Natural Calamities. The scheme is estimated to cost 646.83

crore rupees during the 12th Five Year Plan.

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy received the prestigious United Nations

Public Service Award.
