PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Academic experiences:

Teaching skills: My work as a professor of neurology has given me a strong experience. In addition It provided me with excellent skills in teaching neurology in a simple and comprehensive way for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Research skills: I have been assisting and conducting research at USA, Egypt, and KSA for more than 20 years. I have more than 20 publications at international and Egyptian medical journals. I have a very good experience in biostatistics, including the use of SPSS program. I have done most of the statistics needed for my research.

Clinical experiences:

During my career in neurology, I have worked in very busy hospitals and tertiary referral centers. This has provided me with adequate experience in different neurological disorders, dealing with critical and stressful situations and in making responsible management decisions. I am also confident in dealing with all neurological emergencies.

During my early years of training in neurology in Alexandria University, there was no one in either the neurology or the pediatric departments who had the experience in the field of pediatric neurology. So I decided to go to the states to fill in this gap in my academic and general neurology practice.

Neurophysiology experiences:

Throughout 1995 and 1996, I had a golden opportunity to attend all the neurophysiology courses (EEG & EMG), workshops and programs that were held at the neurology department, Chapel Hill, North Carolina (USA). I attended most of the afternoon EMG cases supervised by the distinguished Professor J. Howard. The number of cases easily exceeded 300. I was very keen to attend and share the discussions that followed every case. Also, I had the opportunity to attend the daily EEG reading and reporting conducted by different EEG board certified staff members. This has sharpened my previous experience I had from Egypt and mad me more confident in doing the variable EMG cases and reading EEGs. Back in Egypt, I taught and trained many resident and postgraduate students EMG and EEG.

Since I have worked in KSA, I have been doing EMGs and EEGs in my private practice over the last 11 years. I am getting referrals from internists and orthopedic surgeons in HJH as well as from many other hospitals in Jeddah and western province. Also, I am a certified neurophysiologist for many of the insurance companies.
