Robert Fenstermacher is the President and CEO of Cultural Vistas. He joined the organization (then CDS International) in 1996 where he served as the executive director for seven years prior to assuming his current role. In his 15-plus year tenure at CDS, he was responsible for the development and administration of a variety of exchange programs with a focus on vocational training and workforce development issues. A graduate of Haverford College outside Philadelphia, Mr. Fenstermacher studied abroad at the University of Heidelberg, and completed his Master of Public Administration at the Monterey Institute of International Studies in California. Living just outside of New York City, he enjoys house and garden projects with his wife and playing Little League baseball with his son.

Karan Singh (@kysingh) is co-founder of Ginger.io. A spin-out from the MIT Media Lab, Ginger.io is a behavioral analytics company developing population management solutions for doctors and patients. He has experience working in healthcare informatics, emerging markets, and management consulting. He earned his MBA from MIT Sloan, including a fellowship from the MIT Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship. He is currently on leave from the Harvard-MIT Health Science & Technology program. Karan received a B.A. and B.S. in Economics and Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley. He loves burritos and the Cal Bears.

Dr. Robert EberhartStanford University

Robert Eberhart is research leader at Stanford’s Program on Regions of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SPRIE)’s Project on Japanese Entrepreneurship. His research focuses on the role of Japanese institutions in fostering entrepreneurship with publications on topics such as entrepreneurship’s intersection with public policy, corporate governance, and institutional effects on innovation. He serves as the Vice Chair of the Japan-U.S. Innovation and Entrepreneurship Council and was recently appointed to chair the U.S.-Japan Space Entrepreneurship Task Force. He earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University, a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. He lives in Palo Alto with his family and enjoys restoring British sports cars.

Vicki Johnson (@ProFellow) is co-founder of ProFellow, a website dedicated to providing information and insider application tips on professional and academic fellowships all over the world. Vicki is a Ph.D. student and recipient of four prestigious fellowships. She and her husband Ryan Johnson started ProFellow while living in New Zealand, where they were actively involved in Wellington’s burgeoning tech start-up community. They raised more than 10K in non-equity seed funding on Indiegogo.com, an online crowdfunding platform. Vicki has a B.A. in Government from Cornell University and a MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. A native of Washington D.C., she enjoys watching Redskins games in Nob Hill dive bars with Ryan. When football’s not on, she hikes, bikes and explores San Francisco on foot.
