Message
The Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE) Celebrates its Diamond Anniversary this 2014.
Led by our President, Engr. Susan C. Benitez, the year started with the co‐hosting of the 75th Annual National Convention by the National Board and the College of Fellows last February 26‐28 held in Manila Hotel, where the general assembly bore witness to the ASEAN Federation of Chemical Engineering Societies (AFChES) Ceremonial MOU Signing in anticipation of the upcoming ASEAN Integration by 2015.
Other programs and activities followed like the ASEAN Undergraduate Engineering Education Summit (AUChEEDS) held at the DLSU and UST venues last July 17‐18, the ChE Week celebration last September 14‐21 where the opening ceremonies was held in PTTC and the International Scientific and Engineers Forum (ISEF) held at the Gateway Hotel in Surigao City last October 23‐25.
This December, we are together once more for our Diamond Culminating Program and would like to thank the unconditional support from PIChE Cebu Chapter Inc. under the leadership of Chairman Antonio V. Osmeña and President Angelo H. Cabije for the successful co‐hosting in Cebu, as well as, a Christmas Party for all.
Tonight we give recognition and heartfelt thanks to all the people who have made PIChE what it is today – a formidable organization that continues to achieve new dimensions and levels of Excellence in our economic, industrial and social endeavors. We look forward to the next 75 years where we see a progressive Philippines made better by all the talents and contribution by our Filipino Chemical Engineers. We lived to see our Diamond Year unfold, so we need to do our part for the next generation of Chemical Engineers.
Welcome to our PIChE Night and may you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Dr. Shirlyn Chua Reyes, ChE Chairperson 2014 Diamond Year Culminating Program
Message
I am pleased to extend my warmest greetings and welcome to my fellow Chemical Engineers, distinguished guests and awardees to our Diamond Year Culmination Program here in Cebu City. Indeed it has been a meaningful journey and experi‐ence for some of us who have witnessed a greater part of our 75 years history. There are now different challenges we face and for the next generation of Chemical Engineers, different times calls for differentiated talents and capabilities, where we all are willing to show and express. I would like to encourage you to be registered as APEC and ASEAN Engineers to be ready to face the challenges of the implementation of the mutual recognition arrangements with the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015. This will allow us to highlight the best of the Filipino Chemical Engineers in the ASEAN Region. I congratulate all our Awardees for being a part of our rich history and hope you continue to add value and glitter to PIChE as we continue to brilliantly shine in our chosen profession in the years ahead. More Power to all and have a Merry Christmas! God Bless! Engr. Susan C. Benitez PIChE National President
