I am an intelligent 25 year old creative who grew up in North London who’s had great passion for technology his whole life - driven by a curiosity for how computers, transport and games are built. Always pro-actively working towards a goal, with intuition for the right decision. Living scientifically with patience and will power he continues to learn everyday day.

User Centered Design

I believe that User Experience is about bringing fluidity online and offline. Through the systems I design, I aim to empower and improve the lives of user.

DEVELOP

Starting with research I start to build a deep understanding for the task.

After gaining insight I can move on to design a mockup or prototype ready for testing.

At this point the concepts can be built and ready for interaction.

After completing this process my outcome is the minimum viable product/feature. Determined by feasibility and always reflecting on the original goal

The most important part of my process is in testing. Only then can we understand our customer and achieve quality.

Product Overview This product is for a 5 a side football league, where teams may interact with other players and understand personal performance.

Problem For these types of leagues people have to pay each time they play. Having a tool to split the fee and charge appropriately is a big problem manually managed by normal people. I had the task of solving this problem while bringing improved functionality to emerging technology.

Research

For this project I was tasked with creating an extension of the goals app for iOS.

So, based on the documentation I obtained for the app I was able to design an extension to improve the experience of playing at a 5-aside league.

When the app is launched a menu will be displayed directing the user to various information about their team and personal performance.

This view displays the current league table

This screen holds team information. - In/Out - Paid - Next Game

Using GPS the areas of play are highlighted at the end of a game.

This list nicely displays an overview of the league.

On match day the user will receive a notification asking if they will be attending the next game.

The user replies yes then all is done however if the user decides to reply no a list of generic answers will be generated as a reason.

Some default answers will be populated however a custom voice message can also be sent.

Notifications

What will be known as glances will offer brief interactions with the app.

This small indicator shows how much has been paid towards the match fee of the next game. By pressing the button, the user can opt to pay their share.

Shown in different colours are confirmations from team-mates indicating the payments have been made.

The user’s personal share.

After the user has made their payment this will be reflected on the display. Any new team-members will be added and the amount will adjust accordingly.

These screens will guide the user through the payment process, secure and fast.

If the user comes off the pitch for a substitute, the game can be paused and the match time will continue to run.

This is the match performance monitor, used to calculate various tracking data into a digestible report as the final whistle blows.

Once the timer starts the user has their game time displayed the largest. the match time will also be shown just below.

When the match comes to an end. The user will first pause the game and be presented with the above screen. The red button will stop the game.

As the user continues to play, the device will be tracking and will show this screen mid-game.

A simple screen requesting confirmation to end the current match/session.

A result sheet will be generated right after the match is finished.

After a quick glance that data will be pushed to the server.

The results can be accessed on any device at a later time.

While playing a match the user will use this utility to track their performance.

Product Overview For this project the main goal was to connect people who came in contact in real life. With an intention to date and get to know that person. Assessing the competition and understanding a familiar and future proof approach was the most important asset to the user experience.

The problem People come in contact all the time. They see faces in real life, attracted to some but always miss the opportunity to make that connection.

The user will be presented with a login screen before they can use the app. Because the best features depend on the user already having a social presence.

Here is the chat screen where most of the magic would take place. Where the user gets familiar with their new found opportunities.

This screen represents the profile page of a user, from here you are able to request chats, view interests and other profile information.

Here are the list of conversations being held by the user. From here the user can search, delete and open conversation threads.

Now you are ready to go out and meet new people. At this point the product all of the features become accessible.

Onced pressed a preview of the user’s profile becomes available for a glance view.

Product Overview For this project I created a ticket purchasing user experience from scratch. the purpose of this project was solely for my portfolio and I developed it all the way to a prototype on both keynote and then axure, I would be glad to demonstrate.

The problem The typical user of this app would want easy way to purchase concert tickets in their city. This music lover has tried many ticketing platforms but would like something simple to purchase, share and find directions to gigs in the area.

Page 18: Cudjoe brown portfolio1.1

Here are some screens of existing apps I had assessed in order to compare them with TCKTS.

Research is the most powerful part of the process when designing a user centred product. Giving you insight and direction that always proves itself.

For this project I carefully outlined all the competitors to compare features and understand how Tckts will be deployed to market.

Here, the goal is to implement a successful reward system for the user during their many goal completions, so before I could understand what to design, I dived straight into research, to get an understanding for the current uses of rewards and where they can be used.

Using a spreadsheet I am able to collect quantitive data. From here I can assess the data and have a greater understanding of which features can be designed and tested with the product.

The criteria chosen depended on the reward schemes and how they are being used.

The first test was to fire out an an A/B test email upon account creation and then analyse the CTR and other metrics.

From this initial test we learned our user reacted better to informal writing and so we proceeded with a CTR of above 80%!.

Using our points system on the platform we rewarded the user for making their first steps creating their account.

The other half of our users were not rewarded with points for the same actions and this proved the users who gained points completed profiles twice as fast.
