Objectives

• Deployment is usually not discussed at the time of sale, so we want to change that behavior

• Deployment is critical in large accounts since billing for service usually starts after deployment of seats

• Improve customers’ experience of moving to online services – quick, efficient, and predictable

• Improve skills of partners so that they can assist customers to deploy and deliver value added services

Context

• Enable Partners to Deploy Office 365 in Small, Mid-Size, and Enterprise Customers

• Offer Microsoft Premier Deployment (MPD) to Office 365 EPG Customers (Major and CFAM only) where the number of seats exceeds 2,400

• Offer MPD to Dedicated customers in Enterprise Segment Customers

Strategy

• Provide Microsoft Online Deployment Guide (MODG) for Office 365

• Provide Deployment Training in every region worldwide

• Provide Deployment Support for up to 160 hours through MPD to partners for up to 3 engagements

• Maintain a list of Recommended Deployment Partners

Partner Enablement

• Build a BG funded team for Office 365 Deployment to customers > 2400 seats

• Augment the deployment team with MCS and a select set of partners

• Assist Partners through guidance, training, and deployment support

• Drive Office 365 Deployment Objectives

Role Based Access

Partner Roles

Admin and End User Roles

Tenant AdminIncludes full permissions to your company. The initial user created when signing up will be assigned this role. Can assign admin permissions to other users.

Billing AdminHas full permissions for billing tasks, and read only permissions for company objects (domains, users). Any user with this role will also receive notifications for billing events.

User Account AdminHas read only permissions to all company objects, and has user administration permissions. Cannot make changes to billing or tenant admins.

Help Desk AdminHas read only permission to all company objects, and has reset password privileges. Cannot reset password for tenant, billing or user account admins.

Service Support Admin Has read only permissions to all company objects. Also has the ability to manage individual services.

User This is the default role for all users, and does not include any admin permissions.

Agent Admin Agent will have full access (Tenant Admin role) on all tenants that the partner has access to

Agent Help Desk AdminAgent will have access to reset passwords only (Help Desk Admin role) on all tenants that the partner has access to.
