For more than 30 years, PLMA’s annual trade show has been the industry eventof the year, where retailers and wholesalers have come to find products andsuppliers for their private label programs. From food, snacks and beverages tohousehold and kitchen products, from health and beauty to GM. Exhibitorsrange from small and medium-size companies to well-known national brandmakers who also supply store brands. This year, PLMA will present more than

The trade show floor is divided into separate halls for foodand home and health. All booth assignments are on a first-come, first-served basis in order of receipt of application and payment, product eligibility and availability of space.

This year’s show features a special lobby pavilionspotlighting and promoting three of today’s fastest-growingcategories: pet care, cosmetics, and innovation andtechnology. Booth assignments will be made to appropriateexhibition halls.

As a PLMA exhibitor, you get a free listing in the OfficialProgram Guide which includes company name, address,phone, website, email, product lines and exhibitorpersonnel. Advertising space is also available for companieswho wish to promote their booth location or products.

The show is also broadcast over the Internet to retailersacross the country on www.plmalive.com as well as to TV monitors in hotels and exhibition halls.

Exhibitors receive a preliminaryretailer and wholesaler list 30 daysprior to the show to help arrangeappointments in advance. A final listis available after the show to helpfollow up on contacts and arrangepost-show appointments.

Exhibitors are invited to announce new products on PLMA’sShow Preview, which is sent to all registered retail andwholesale visitors 30 days prior to the show. Exhibitors canalso submit new products for display in PLMA’s New ProductExpo®, which is located inside PLMA’s Idea Supermarket®and open during show hours.

PLMA Matchmaker helps retailersand wholesalers arrangeappointments withexhibitors prior to theshow. Exhibitors receivesecure access codes priorto the show in order toparticipate.

With more than 3,200 membercompanies worldwide, PLMA is the only industryorganization devoted entirely to promoting the interests of store brands. Through its year-round programs andpublications, PLMA gives members the contacts andservices they need to compete effectively in today'smarketplace.

Membership Profile

Founded in 1979, PLMA's membership ranges from multi-national corporations to small family-owned suppliers. Their products include food, beverages, snacks, health and beauty, household, kitchen,housewares, DIY, leisure and generalmerchandise. Many membermanufacturers only do private label.Others are well-known brandmakers who also have privatelabel capacity. Together, they form PLMA's ActiveMembership. For brokers andtrade suppliers, there is PLMA’sAssociate Membership. Forinternational companies, thereis PLMA International Council.

Trade Shows

PLMA provides membermanufacturers with sellingopportunities around theworld. In addition to PLMA’sannual show in Chicago,PLMA presents the “World ofPrivate Label” InternationalTrade Show in May inAmsterdam in Europe. PLMA’sShanghai Private Label Fair in China in December is presented inpartnership with the Shanghai InternationalSourcing Promotion Center.

Conferences and Seminars

PLMA also presents conferences andevents throughout the year that deal withcurrent issues from marketing andconsumer trends to trade practices andlegislative and regulatory concerns.These include PLMA’s Annual Meeting & Leadership Conference and PLMA’s Washington Conference.

Executive Education

Members can also participate in PLMA's Executive Educationprogram, developed in conjunction with St. Joseph'sUniversity in Philadelphia. The program offers a 4-dayprogram of courses covering private label history, retailmarketing and merchandising, new product developmentand promotion.

Research and Publications

PLMA provides members with keyintelligence data, too. In conjunction withThe Nielsen Company, PLMA publishes theAnnual Private Label Yearbook with market

share data from supermarkets, drugchains and mass merchandisers.PLMA also regularly tracks

consumer shopping behavior inconjunction with GfK Research. To keep members informed throughoutthe year, PLMA provides members with

the online E-Scanner newsletters.
