    Te Alcohol/Drug studies program is designed to prepare people to serve as para-proessionals in the growing careereld o counseling and advisement to individuals with addictions to alcohol or other drugs. Te MSJC Alcohol/Drugstudies program is a certicate program consisting o 39 units, drawn rom a course list which provides a thoroughgrounding in medical and social origins o addiction.     MSJC oers several career options in the health ield, ranging rom medical oice assistant through nursing. Everyinterested student should begin with Allied Health 070 (Survey o Health Occupations) which describes the careersavailable in the health ield. Several careers can be entered with a very short preparation. For instance, the CertiiedNursing Assistant, Home Health Aide (CNA/HHA), Emergency Medical echnician (EM) and the medical oiceassistant programs take a qualiied applicant only one or two semesters to complete. MSJCs career programs inNursing take longer to complete, but bring with them the beneits and challenges o a rapidly changing proession.
