DESCRIPTION"Dream Fountain" is a public intervention in an under utilized
zone of the historic district in El Paso, Texas. The piece will inte
sect through the width of a city block with an installation of a
altered experience. The installation can be seen as portal, a
version of visions ashing before death, a ritual, a performanc
where the viewer dances with the elements of the universe. Th
viewer will experience a transformation on a cosmic and tellu
level. The viewer will start in one place, and begin their crossin
through one door; but they will come out on the other sideof the building through another door. This piece is fun, deep a
lighthearted, charged with magical forms and textures, it is a
fresh ritual that takes place in an alternate hybrid reality.
Free Radicals is a gathering of youthful craftspeople in order
present work inspired by the spirit of the El Paso / Juarz bord
region. The multi-media event will feature a variety of styles
and works including painting, aerosol, digital illustration, colla
photography, and silk screening. FREE RADICALS will feature l
music, painting, and silk screening demonstrations.

Unsettled is composed of artworks that are products of the
geographical, social, and economic displacement of the artist
and of the inuences brought by their new experiences and
environments. They present their own view distilled and
expressed through their context and experiences. All ideas
brought together form a visual map of the dierent factors th
create the larger conglomerate that represents our society.
The art presented here shows how these ideas converge andclash to either adapt with each other or to continue to agitate
shape our society and art.
Conectarte is a small group of artists and cultural promoters
Despite ongoing violence and unrest there is an active and
growing visual arts scene in Ciudad Jurez, fueled in particula
by the energy of artist collectives who are working in all areas
the city making murals, giving artists workshops to children a
adolescents, sponsoring lm festivals and providing art therap
Peace of Art exhibits 50 posters from designers from both sidof the border and children artwork from various elementary
schools.
Irrigacin by Ballroom Marfa is an act of contamination that
involves both performance and video. Margolles traveled to
Juarez and placed moistened linens over various locations wh
drug-related murders occurred. Bodily matter and detritus we
absorbed by the linens, which were then diluted in 5,000 gallo
of water and pumped into an irrigation truck. The truck then
traveled slowly along Hwy 90 from Marfa to Alpine spraying o
irrigating the road. The video documents this drivean act
that forces a literal connection between the geographically
proximate but socially and politically disparate locations, Marf
Texas and Juarez, Mexico. By literally transporting the violence
from 200 miles away to the site of the exhibition, Margolles
implicates the viewer and disseminates responsibility and
awareness.
