1. EQUIPMENT DISPOSITION

THE SINGLE HYDRAULIC PASSENGER ELEVATOR SYSTEM IN THE BUILDING WAS MANUFACTUREDAND INSTALLED BY MONTGOMERY ELEVATOR COMPANY. MONTGOMERY ELEVATOR COMPANY WASPURCHASED BY KONE ELEVATOR IN 1994 OVER TIME THE MONTGOMERY CONTROL TECHNOLOGYAND PARTS WERE DISCONTINUED. THE EXISTING ELEVATOR EQUIPMENT IS IN BELOW AVERAGECONDITION FOR THIS VINTAGE OF EQUIPMENT.

THE HYDRAULIC PASSENGER ELEVATOR IN THE CT HAS A RATED CAPACITY OF 6,000 LBS. ANDTRAVELS AT A SPEED OF 100 F.P.M. THE CT ELEVATOR SERVES FIVE (5) LANDINGS (LEVELS 1, M, 2, 3,4,). THE CAR SIZE IS APPROXIMATELY 11’-7” WIDE X 4’-5” DEEP. EXISTING CAR INTERIOR DOESCOMPLY FULLY WITH THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT, UPDATED INTERIORS ANDCONTROLS WILL MITIGATE THIS ISSUE DURING THE MODERNIZATION.ENTRANCES ARE 4’-6” WIDE X7’-0” HIGH, POWER OPERATED, TWO SPEED SIDE SLIDE OPENING DOORS.

EXISTING CONTROLS ARE ORIGINAL MONTGOMERY ELEVATOR HL SERIES, ENGINEERED IN 1970.THERE WAS A VIRGINIA CONTROLS FIRE SERVICE OVERLAY ADDED AT A LATER TIME, BUT NO DATEWAS AVAILABLE. SOME PARTS ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR THE MONTGOMERY HL PRODUCT;HOWEVER, THE TECHNOLOGY IS OUTDATED, AND THE SUPPORT AND TECHNICIAN'S KNOWLEDGEOF THIS PRODUCT IS LIMITED.

THE DOOR OPERATION LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN UPDATED WITH GAL MANUFACTURING MOVFR DOOROPERATORS AND ASSOCIATED GAL ENTRANCE EQUIPMENT. THIS EQUIPMENT CAN AND SHOULDBE RETAINED DURING THE MODERNIZATION. NEW HOISTWAY AND CAR DOORS WILL BE CALLEDFOR IN THE SPECIFICATIONS MITIGATING ANY EXISTING ASBESTOS EXPOSURE FROM DOORSMANUFACTURED IN THE 1960S AND 1970S.

CERTAIN EXISTING SIGNAL FIXTURES HAVE BEEN UPDATED, HOWEVER THE MAJORITY AREOBSOLETE AND DATED.PLANNING FOR REPLACEMENT SHOULD ALSO INCLUDE NEW HALL AND CARFIXTURES AS WELL AS REPLACEMENT OF THE MULTI-LIGHT HALL POSITION INDICATORS AT THE 1ST FLOOR.

THE ELEVATOR CAB INTERIORS ARE ORIGINAL. THE PLANNING PROCESS WILL INCLUDE REVIEW OFAVAILABLE OPTIONS FOR IMPROVING THE ELEVATOR AESTHETICS TO THE BUILDING TENANTS.APPOINTMENTS CAN INCLUDE NEW INTERIOR SIDE AND REAR WALL PANELS AS WELL AS NEWSTAINLESS-STEEL FINISHES AT THE FRONT OF THE CAB.

THE ELEVATOR JACK ASSEMBLY LOOKS TO BE ORIGINAL TO THE INSTALLATION IN 1970. THIS JACKWILL BE REPLACED AS IT HAS SURPASSED ITS USEFUL LIFE. MANY HYDRAULIC ELEVATORS THATWERE INSTALLED PRIOR TO 1971 INCLUDED SINGLE-BOTTOM CYLINDERS, BURIED IN THE GROUNDBENEATH THE ELEVATOR CAR. THESE CYLINDERS MAY BE EXPOSED TO CORROSION ANDELECTROLYSIS. AS A RESULT, THE CYLINDER MAY LEAK OIL, LEADING TO UNCONTROLLED CARMOVEMENT AND CONTAMINATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT. IN 1971, THE U.S. NATIONAL ELEVATORCODE BEGAN REQUIRING ALL NEW INSTALLATIONS TO INCLUDE DOUBLE-BOTTOM CYLINDERS. THEASME A17.1-2000 CODE NOW REQUIRES THAT ALL SINGLE-BOTTOM CYLINDERS BE REPLACED WITHNEW DOUBLE-BOTTOM CYLINDERS OR BE EQUIPPED WITH CODE COMPLIANT SAFETIES.

CHANGES IN EQUIPMENT DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY HAVE MADE THE EXISTING DISPATCHING ANDMOTOR CONTROL SYSTEMS OBSOLETE.

FINALLY, A MODERNIZATION OF THE ELEVATOR EQUIPMENT WILL REQUIRE UPGRADES TO EXISTINGBUILDING FOR CODE COMPLIANCE WITHIN LIMITATIONS OF EXISTING STRUCTURE.

2. RECOMMENDATIONS

WE RECOMMEND PLANNING PROCEED FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE EXISTING CONTROLSYSTEMS WITH NEW MICROPROCESSOR-BASED CONTROLS, NEW SCR DRIVE UNITS, NEW CAR ANDHOISTWAY DOORS, NEW HYDRAULIC JACK ASSEMBLY, NEW CAB INTERIORS AND NEW LED CARAND HALL FIXTURES. VARIOUS EXISTING MECHANICAL AND STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS CAN BERECONDITIONED AND REUSED. (EXISTING BRACKETS, CAR FRAME, ETC.)

1. WALL CUTOUTS AND FIRE RATED CLOSURE FOR CONTROL AND SIGNAL FIXTURE BOXESWHICH PENETRATE WALLS.

2. CUTTING AND PATCHING WALLS AND FLOORS.

3. LOCKABLE, SELF-CLOSING, FIRE-RATED PIT DOOR.

4. PIT ACCESS STATIONARY LADDER FOR EACH ELEVATOR. RETRACTABLE LADDER IFPROVIDED SHALL INCLUDE AN ELECTRICAL CONTACT CONFORMING TO ASME A17.1, RULE2.2.2.4.2.7.

5. WATERPROOF PIT. INDIRECT WASTE DRAIN OR SUMP WITH FLUSH GRATE AND PUMP. SUMPPUMP/DRAIN CAPACITY MINIMUM 3000 GALLONS PER HOUR, PER ELEVATOR.

6. CODE COMPLIANT HOISTWAY VENTING.

7. SEAL FIREPROOFING TO PREVENT FLAKING.

B. MACHINE ROOM AND MACHINERY SPACES:

1. SELF-CLOSING AND LOCKING ACCESS DOOR.

1.1. PROVIDE NEW FIRE RATED DRYWALL PARTITION AROUND EXISTING SUMP PUMP.

1.2. INSTALL FIRE RATED ACCESS DOOR IN DRYWALL PARTITION.

2. MECHANICAL

2.1. INSTALL INDOOR AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ON ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM WALL.

2.2. INSTALL OUTDOOR CONDENSING UNIT ON FOURTH FLOOR OUTDOOR AREA.

2.3. INSTALL RELIEF AIR LOUVER WITH FIRE ALARM CONTROLLED MOTORIZED DAMPER AT TOPOF ELEVATOR HOISTWAY.

2.4. ROUTE REFRIGERANT PIPING THROUGH ELEVATOR HOISTWAY TO CONNECT INDOOR AIRCONDITIONING UNIT AND OUTDOOR CONDENSING UNIT.

3. ELECTRICAL

3.1. DE-ENERGIZE AND REMOVE POWER CONNECTIONS FOR EXISTING ELEVATOR PUMP ANDELEVATOR CONTROLLER.

3.2. REMOVE EXISTING JELLY-JAR LIGHTING IN THE ELEVATOR PIT AND ASSOCIATED CONTROL.

3.3. REMOVE EXISTING EMERGENCY POWER OFF SWITCH IN THE ELEVATOR PIT.

3.4. EXISTING FEEDER TO EXISTING ELEVATOR SHALL BE FIELD VERIFIED BY CONTRACTOR. IFFEEDER IS SMALLER THAN INDICATED ON DRAWING, IT SHALL BE REPLACED WITH MINIMUMFEEDER AS INDICATED ON DRAWINGS. FINAL SIZE SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH FINAL HPRATING OF THE ELEVATOR.

3.5. PROVIDE NEW FUSED DISCONNECT SWITCH, OR ENCLOSED CIRCUIT BREAKER. FINAL SIZESHALL BE COORDINATED WITH FINAL HP RATING OF THE ELEVATOR. (SHUNT TRIP IS NOTREQUIRED, SINCE BUILDING IS PARTIAL SPRINKLERED).

3.6. PROVIDE NEW LIGHTING IN THE ELEVATOR PIT AND REUSE EXISTING BRANCH CIRCUIT.

3.7. PROVIDE NEW DISCONNECT SWITCHES FOR LIGHTING IN ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM,RECEPTACLE IN ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM, ELEVATOR CABIN LIGHTS AND VENTILATION.

3.8. ENSURE ELEVATOR MANUFACTURER PROVIDES ALTERNATE POWER SOURCES (BATTERIES)FOR ELEVATOR CABIN LIGHTS, AND ELEVATOR LOWERING DEVICE.

3.9. PROVIDE NEW RELAYS AND INTERFACE WITH FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL FOR ELEVATORRECALL (ELEVATOR LOBBY SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE PROTECTED DURINGCONSTRUCTION - REMOVED AND REINSTALLED AFTER CONSTRUCTION IS DONE).

3.10.PROVIDE POWER CONNECTION TO NEW ELEVATOR AND TO NEW AIR CONDITIONINGSYSTEM.

3.11.PROVIDE TESTING OF THE ELECTRICAL AND FIRE ALARM RELAYS ASSOCIATED WITH NEWWORK.

2. THREE-PHASE MAINLINE COPPER POWER FEEDER TO TERMINALS OF EACH ELEVATORCONTROLLER IN THE MACHINE ROOM WITH PROTECTED LOCKABLE “OPEN” DISCONNECTINGMEANS.

AT THECOMPLETION OF THE PROJECT, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL TOOLS,APPLIANCES, SURPLUS MATERIAL AND SCRAP FROM THE JOB SITE. CONTRACTOR TOFOLLOW LOCAL REGULATION FOR WASTE DISPOSAL REQUIREMENTS.

1.5. AT THE COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CLEAN THE ENTIRE JOBSITE, INCLUDING ALL NEW AND EXISTING SURFACES OF BUILDING, EQUIPMENT ANDSYSTEMS, LEAVING THE AREA THOROUGHLY CLEAN, CLEAR AND READY FOROCCUPANCY.

1.6. ALL SPECIFIED EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITHMANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS.

1.7. IN ADHERENCE WITH THE INTENT OF THESE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, PROVIDE FINISHEDWORK, TESTED AND READY FOR OPERATION. WHEREVER THE WORD "PROVIDE" IS USED,IT SHALL MEAN "FURNISHED, INSTALL, BALANCE, ADJUST AND TEST, COMPLETE ANDREADY FOR USE".

1.8. CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT SITE TO VERIFY EXISTING CONDITIONS AND COORDINATE WITHNEW PIPING. SUBMIT A COORDINATION SHOP DRAWINGS FOR REVIEW PRIOR TOORDERING, FABRICATING OR INSTALLING ITEMS.

2. COORDINATION AND SCHEDULING

2.1. COMPLETELY COORDINATE AND SCHEDULE WORK OF ALL TRADES. CONTRACTOR SHALLCOMPENSATE FOR EXISTING CONDITIONS SO THAT CONFLICTS IN SCHEDULING ANDLOCATION WILL NOT OCCUR.

2.2. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLETE COORDINATION BETWEEN ALLSUB-CONTRACTORS, SUPPLIERS, GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION,BUILDING PERSONNEL, CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS, ARCHITECT/ENGINEER ANDBUILDING OWNER.

2.3. CONTRACTOR SHALL REVIEW AND COORDINATE THE INSTALLATION OF NEW SYSTEM(S)AND EQUIPMENT. NO WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED PRIOR TO THE CONTRACTOROBTAINING EXACT FIELD DIMENSIONS OF EXISTING BUILDINGS, EXISTING CEILINGS,STRUCTURAL OBSTRUCTIONS, EXISTING BUILDING SYSTEMS TO REMAIN, EXISTINGFURNITURE TO REMAIN, ETC., WHICH, MAY AFFECT INSTALLATION OF NEW EQUIPMENTOR SYSTEMS.

2.4. CONTRACTOR'S ATTENTION IS DIRECTED TO THE IMPORTANCE OF PROPER SCHEDULINGAND PHASING OF WORK SO AS TO CAUSE MINIMUM DISTURBANCE TO ACTIVITIES INOTHER AREAS OF THE BUILDING, WHICH WILL REMAIN OCCUPIED THROUGHOUT THEDURATION OF THE CONTRACT. CONTRACTOR'S WORK SCHEDULE SHALL BE SUBMITTEDTO AND APPROVED BY THE OWNER.

2.5. NOTIFY THE OWNER, IN WRITING, AT LEAST SEVEN DAYS IN ADVANCE OF ANY REQUIREDSHUTDOWN OF ANY UTILITY. OBTAIN OWNER'S WRITTEN APPROVAL PRIOR TO SHUTDOWN.

2.6. CONTRACTOR SHALL THOROUGHLY EXAMINE PREMISES AND OBSERVE ALL CONDITIONSAND CIRCUMSTANCES UNDER WHICH THE WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED. NOALLOWANCES WILL BE MADE FOR ERRORS OR NEGLIGENCE IN THIS RESPECT.

2.7. CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE BUILDINGLANDLORD AND PROPERTY MANAGER.

3. CODE PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS

3.1. ALL WORK SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH LATEST APPLICABLE CODES,REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AND PAY FOR ALLNECESSARY PERMITS AND SHALL ARRANGE FOR ALL INSPECTIONS BY AUTHORITIESHAVING JURISDICTION.

3.2. APPROVAL AND SIGN-OFF BY ALL AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION IS REQUIRED ATTHE COMPLETION OF PROJECT. SECURE PERMIT AND INSPECTION CERTIFICATES ANDTRANSMIT SAME TO THE OWNER AT THE COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT.

3.3. PERFORM ALL WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING CODES AND STANDARDS:

4. WARRANTY

4.2. SUCHNOTIFICATION SHALL BE ACCOMPANIED BY A DRAWING DELINEATING THE PROPOSEDSOLUTION PRIOR TO STARTING ANY WORK IN THE AFFECTED AREA.

4. PRIOR TO BEGINNING ANY WORK, SECURE NECESSARY PERMITS OR CLEARANCES FROM THEAUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION. PROVIDE ALL LABOR AND MATERIALS FOR A COMPLETEINSTALLATION. WORK SHALL BE EXECUTED BY EXPERIENCED ELECTRICIANS WHO ARELICENSED IN THE JURISDICTION WHERE THE PROJECT IS LOCATED.

5. CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE SUFFICIENT NOTICE TO THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE PRIOR TOANY WORK TO ALLOW ADEQUATE TIME FOR COORDINATION OF EXISTING BUILDING ACTIVITIESWITH THE CONSTRUCTION WORK.

6. CONTRACTOR TO INCLUDE IN THEIR SCOPE ALL LABOR, MATERIALS, SERVICES, APPARATUSAND SHOP DRAWINGS IN ADDITION TO THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AS REQUIRED TOCOMPLY WITH ALL APPLICABLE GOVERNING LAWS, CODES AND JURISDICTIONREQUIREMENTS. PROVIDE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT WITH ALL ASSOCIATED ACCESSORIES,BRANCH CIRCUIT WIRING AND CONDUIT INFRASTRUCTURE AS REQUIRED TO ENSURE ACOMPLETE AND OPERATIONAL SYSTEM.

7. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE WRITTEN CERTIFICATION THAT ALL PRODUCTS, MATERIALSAND PROCESSES INSTALLED IN THE SPACE CONTAINS NO ASBESTOS OR PCB.

8. DELIVER PRODUCTS TO PROJECT SITE IDENTIFIED WITH NAMES, MODEL NUMBERS, TYPES,GRADES, COMPLIANCE LABELS, AND OTHER INFORMATION NEEDED FOR DISTINCTIDENTIFICATION; ADEQUATELY PACKAGED AND PROTECTED TO PREVENT DAMAGE DURINGSHIPMENT, STORAGE, AND HANDLING. PROTECT STORED EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS FROMDAMAGE. COMPLY WITH MANUFACTURER'S RIGGING AND MOVING INSTRUCTIONS FORUNLOADING EQUIPMENT AND MOVING INTO FINAL LOCATION.

9. ELECTRICAL PLANS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC ONLY. COORDINATE WITH EQUIPMENT VENDOR TOVERIFY EXACT LOCATION AND CONNECTION REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.

10. ALL EQUIPMENT SUCH AS RELAYS, SWITCHES, PANELS, AND OTHER APPURTENANCES SHALLHAVE IDENTIFICATION PLATES OF BLACK LAMINATED PLASTIC WITH 1/2" WHITE LETTERS. ALLJUNCTION BOXES IN CEILING CAN BE MARKED WITH BLACK PERMANENT MARKER ON COVERPLATES AS PANEL DESIGNATION AND CIRCUIT NUMBER FROM WHICH THEY ARE FED.

11. ALL CONDUCTORS SHALL BE IDENTIFIED. ALL WIRING DEVICES SHALL BE USED WITH TYPEDLABEL ON THE COVER PLATE IDENTIFYING THE PANEL DESIGNATION AND CIRCUIT NUMBERFROM WHICH THEY ARE FED.

12. CONTROL WIRING SHALL BE TAGGED AT EACH END AND TERMINATED WHERE WORK HASBEEN PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURES SPECIFICATIONS.

13. ALL CONNECTIONS TO DEVICES SHALL BE TAPED WITH SCOTCH 33 ELECTRICAL TAPE.

14. ALL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE "UL" LISTED.

15. ALL MATERIALS AND WORK SHALL BE ACCORDING TO BASE BUILDING SPECIFICATIONSUNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

16. ALL CONDUITS AND JUNCTION BOXES SHALL BE CONCEALED IN FINISHED AREAS. PRIOR TOCONCEALMENT OF NEW CONSTRUCTION, ALL WORK BEHIND FINISHED SURFACES SHALL BEINSPECTED BY THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE.

17. IF MATERIAL OR EQUIPMENT IS INSTALLED BEFORE IT IS APPROVED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALLBE LIABLE FOR ITS REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE OR IF IN THEOPINION OF THE ARCHITECT OR ENGINEER, THE MATERIAL OR EQUIPMENT DOES NOT MEETTHE INTENT OF THE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS.

18. VERIFY DOOR SWINGS BEFORE INSTALLING LIGHT SWITCHES.

19. MAINTAIN INTEGRITY OF THE FIRE RATED CONSTRUCTION WHERE CONDUITS PASS THROUGHWALLS AND FLOORS.

20. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ON PLAN, LIGHTING FIXTURES SHALL BE INDIVIDUALLYSUPPORTED FROM THE CEILING SLAB ABOVE OR SUPPORTED BY THE CEILING FRAMINGMEMBERS PROVIDED THE SUSPENDED CEILING IS INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NEC.

21. INSTALLATION OF EQUIPMENT, COMPONENTS AND WIRING FOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SHALLBE IN ACCORDANCE WITH REQUIREMENTS OF EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER.

22. ALL EXISTING AND NEW PANELS IMPACTED BY THIS PROJECT SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH NEWUPDATED TYPEWRITTEN PANEL SCHEDULES INDICATING THE FINAL ROOM NUMBER AND THEEQUIPMENT OR DEVICES SERVED BY THE CIRCUIT. CONTRACTOR TO BALANCE THE NEWLOADS ON ALL THREE PHASES FOR EACH PANELBOARD WHERE WORK HAS BEENPERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS.

23. CONTRACTOR'S SCOPE OF WORK INCLUDES TRACING ALL EXISTING CIRCUITS IN THECONSTRUCTION AREA BACK TO SOURCE. IF REMOVAL OF EXISTING ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENTAFFECTS ANY EXISTING CIRCUITS, CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE CIRCUIT BREAKERS, WIRING,CONDUIT, ETC. REQUIRED TO RECONNECT EXISTING-TO-REMAIN ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENTBACK TO SOURCE.

24. THE CONTINUITY OF ALL EXISTING CIRCUITS TO REMAIN SHALL BE MAINTAINED.

25. ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SHALL BE GROUNDED PER ARTICLE 250 OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICALCODE.

26. ALL CONDUCTORS SHALL BE COPPER. MINIMUM SIZE SHALL BE #12 AWG. CONDUCTOR #10AWG AND SMALLER SHALL BE SOLID. CONDUCTORS #8 AWG AND LARGER SHALL BESTRANDED. CONDUCTOR SHALL HAVE THHN/THWN INSULATION OR AS NOTED.

27. PROVIDE MINIMUM 3/4" CONDUIT FOR POWER CIRCUITS.

36. CONTRACTOR TO TEST AND VERIFY THE CAPACITY OF THE EXISTING FIRE ALARM SYSTEMSERVING BUILDING PRIOR TO STARTING ANY ASSOCIATED WORK. B. ALL 125 VOLT, 15 OR 20 AMPERE SINGLE-PHASE RECEPTACLES INSTALLED IN PITS,MACHINE SPACES, CONTROL ROOMS SHALL BE OF THE GROUND-FAULTCIRCUIT-INTERRUPTER TYPE (GFCI).

41. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE WITH MECHANICAL, PLUMBING AND OTHERTRADES TO PROVIDE ALL EQUIPMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE TRADES WITHNECESSARY WIRING AND CONDUIT INFRASTRUCTURE FOR ALL SENSORS, AND CONTROLSYSTEMS AS REQUIRED.

43. ALL ELECTRICAL WORK, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DEVICES, EQUIPMENT, CONDUITSAND BOXES IN PARKING SPACES AND DRIVE AISLES OF COVERED GARAGE AREAS MUST BEINSTALLED TO MAINTAIN A MINIMUM HEIGHT CLEARANCE OF 98 INCHES FOR HANDICAPSPACES AND 84 INCHES FOR ALL OTHER SPACES.

44. CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE ELECTRICAL WORK TO AVOID INTERFERENCE BETWEEN ALLOTHER TRADES.

A. DETERMINE INTERFERENCE BEFORE WORK IS FABRICATED OR INSTALLED. 45. TESTING:

A. TEST AND ADJUST EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS INSTALLED AND DEMONSTRATE PROPEROPERATION TO OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE. NO EQUIPMENT SHALL BE TESTED OROPERATED FOR ANY PURPOSE UNTIL IT HAS BEEN FULLY PREPARED FOR OPERATION INACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS.

B. SHOW, BY DEMONSTRATION IN SERVICE, THAT ALL CIRCUITS AND DEVICES ARE IN GOODOPERATING CONDITION. EACH PIECE OF EQUIPMENT AND COMPONENT OF THEELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHALL FUNCTION NOT LESS THAN FIVE TIMES IN COURSE OF THEACCEPTANCE TESTS.

D. ABANDON ALL CONDUITS CONCEALED IN CONCRETE WALLS OR SLABS. REMOVE ALLWIRING FROM ABANDONED CONDUITS BACK TO SOURCE OF SUPPLY.

E. FIRE ALARM SHALL REMAIN OPERATIONAL DURING THE CONSTRUCTION.

F. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH FACILITY FOR INSTALLING REQUIREDTEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION TO LIMIT THE ACCESS WITHIN THE AREA OF CONSTRUCTION.

G. CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE WITH FACILITY TO INSTALL TEMPORARY HEAT DETECTORSIN LIEU OF THE EXISTING LOBBY SMOKE DETECTORS TO PROTECT THE BUILDING DURINGTHE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD.

H. SMOKE DETECTORS INSTALLED IN LOBBY, PIT OR TOP OF ELEVATOR SHAFT SHALL BESAVED, TESTED AND REINSTALLED WHERE ADEQUATE. WHERE SMOKE DETECTORS AREFAILING THE TEST, CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE NEW DETECTORS IN THE SAME BASE,COMPATIBLE WITH EXISTING SYSTEM.

2. DISPOSAL OF DEMOLITION:

A. CONTRACTOR SHALL CLEAN THE PROJECT SITE AT THE END OF EACH WORKING DAY.NOTIFY THE BUILDING OWNER PRIOR TO DISPOSAL OF DEMOLISHED MATERIALS TOALLOW SALVAGE OF ANY USABLE MATERIALS. AFTER INSPECTION FROM THE OWNER'SREPRESENTATIVE, ALL UNUSED MATERIALS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE JOB SITE WITHDISPOSAL IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE SPECIFICATIONS AND REGULATIONS.
