This course addresses liability issues, orientation to the Law Enforcement Driving Simulator (LEDS), defensive driving concepts, recognizing dangerous driving attitudes, intersection analysis, collision avoidance strategies, vehicle control techniques, emergency vehicle operations, passing, vehicle code provisions. Vehicle pursuits and related safe driving and vehicle dynamic issues.
Course Overview: In public service, one thing is certain: crisis
will happen! Breaking down each crisis to understand the
volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity is a philosophy
known as VUCA. Viewing the policing from the VUCA
perspective is empowering and an essential skill for police
officers. In simple terms, VUCA is chaos. Today the
professional police officers and professional staff must
recognize and mitigate VUCA, to minimize disruptive and
destabilizing effects it may have on themselves and the agency.
The workshop led by Dr. Javidi and his associates since 2016
does just that. It turbo-charges star performance leadership
capable of sustained strategic innovations and operational
excellence. More specifically, it provides practical and tactical
counter VUCA strategies for police officer effectiveness,
wellness, and resiliency. MAGNUS Leadership is based on the
science of Reversal Theory, Moral Philosophy, Cognitive and
Emotional Intelligence.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completing the course, each participant will:
• Have a scientific and practical understanding of agency
culture and VUCA.
• Understand the importance of Expectancy and Reversal
Theories for enhanced Leadership, Resiliency and Wellbeing.
