Happy Holidays from the CSN Mint!

Can you believe it? 2010 is almost over! But you still have time to scoop up some of the best coins of 2010, and this latest version of our Holiday Catalog is a great place to find them.

First and foremost, there is the new America the Beautiful QuartersTM (pages 3-9). Much rarer than Statehood Quarters, these coins are hard-to-find and very collectible. As you’ve come to expect, the CSN Mint has a great collection of these coins waiting for you – including everyone’s favorite, Quarter Mania (back cover)!

American Silver dollars are the world’s most collected coin, and the rising price of silver only makes them more desirable. We’ve gathered up a classic collection of these coins (page 21) for you to stock up on including the 2010 Proof coin, and our best selling “never produced by the U.S. Mint” 2009 Proofed Silver Eagle.

Gold Eagles (page 24) are selling out as fast as the mint can turn them out, so when they are gone, it’s unlikely we’ll get more, so don’t miss out.

We’ve loaded up on other modern commemoratives too, such as the 2010 Boy Scout Silver Dollar (page 41) and 2010 Veterans Silver Dollar (page 42). Both are sold out at the mint.

From all of us at the CSN Mint, thank you for your business! We look forward to serving you in 2011!

A. Certified Numismatic Perfection – 2010 PR70 Proof QuartersArtwork for the new America the Beautiful QuartersTM is first digitally mastered in 3-D to capture the beauty of America’s natural and historic landmarks. The artwork is then passed on to the San Francisco Mint, the exclusive minting facility for proof-quality coins. The mint produces a limited number of these proofs, where each coin is double struck for crisp relief providing a level of detail not found on typical circulating coinage. Only 1 in 1000 of these proofs achieves the flawless grade of PR70. Even fewer qualify for the designation of DCAM or Deep Cameo. Each coin in these sets is individually encapsulated and certified PR70 by ANACS. Available as a Clad Set and Silver Set.

B. CSN EXCLUSIVE! 2010 America the Beautiful QuartersTM Silver Proof SetsThe ultimate edition of the 2010 America the Beautiful QuartersTM Program! These coins are collector versions of the highest quality. They are produced exclusively at the United States Mint in San Francisco and feature the distinguishing “S” mint mark.

Never touched by human hands and specially minted to deliver incredible detail and mirror-like backgrounds – these coins are works of art struck in 90% silver.

These sets sell out quickly at the U.S. Mint and are typically minted in quantities of fewer than a million a year. When you consider the fact that the America the Beautiful QuartersTM already represent one of the lowest production levels of a U.S. Mint coin series in decades, these silver proofs become very rare, and very collectible.

(19944) $59.95

C. CSN EXCLUSIVE! 2010 America the Beautiful QuartersTM Clad Proof SetsTake your collection of America the Beautiful QuartersTM to the top with this 2010 Clad Proof Edition from CSN!

These special-edition America the Beautiful QuartersTM are real currency and are one of the highest quality coins produced by the U.S. Mint. These collector versions are specially minted to deliver the ultimate in detail with a mirror-like background.

Proof coins represent only a fraction of the total coins manufactured each year…add to that the fact that the America the Beautiful QuartersTM represent one of the lowest production levels of a U.S. Mint coin in decades…and what you have is a sure-fire collectible…one that you’ll treasure for years to come.

But you’ll need to order now…this could be your only chance to own a complete set!

2009 Proofed Coin – A CSN Exclusive!

America’s Premier Silver CoinAmerica’s Premier Silver Coin

Silver EaglesA. Complete 25-Year Date Run Set of American Silver Eagles One of the most popular coins ever struck by the U.S. Mint, Silver Eagles have been a collectors choice ever since the very first one was issued in 1986. We’ve assembled this complete 25-year Mint State Silver Eagle collection – and each coin is professionally graded near-perfect MS69 by NGC! This is a Limited Edition – and there are only 1500 complete sets available. It’s an excellent way to start a complete collection, as early issues will be difficult to locate in the future.

(18455) $1,499.95

B. NEW! The Definitive Collectible Coin – 2010 BU Silver EaglesThe Silver Eagle is America’s premier collectible coin. The weight and purity of each coin is guaranteed by the U.S. Government, making them the world’s best-selling silver coins. The coin features Weinman’s famous Walking Liberty design on the obverse and a heraldic eagle on the reverse.

These 2010 U.S. Mint Silver Eagles are in-stock and available right now – a fact that we can’t guarantee will be true for the rest of the year. The demand for Silver Eagles last year was unprecedented, and the mint had trouble keeping up. No one knows what will happen this year but those who buy now won’t have to worry! Stock up today!

(18784) $39.95

C. The 2009 Proofed Silver EagleIn 2009, despite popular demand, the U.S. Mint was unable to create a proof version of its popular Silver Eagle coin due to the overwhelming popular demand for regular bullion.

To satisfy the public’s craving for this NEVER PRODUCED coin, CSN has taken a collection of original, non-proof U.S. Mint struck 2009 Silver Eagles that had no mint mark, created new dies, and individually over-struck each coin to create the beautiful polished proof-like finish coveted by collectors. The results are stunning!

Exacting techniques were called for in the creation of every coin, using a process similar to the creation of real proof coins. Each dazzling overstrike was created using an actual retired Denver Mint coin press owned and operated by renowned numismatic sculptor, Daniel Carr. Carr’s expertise includes the artwork depicted on the reverse of the New York and Rhode Island Statehood Quarters.

As part of the over-striking process, a permanent “DC” mint mark was impressed into the coins. Located to the lower left of the Eagle’s olive branch, this DC mark provides easy identification, especially since the U.S. Mint has never used a “DC” mint mark.

Don’t wait…these coins are a genuine limited edition. Satisfaction is guaranteed, but demand indicates our supply will not last. Act now and order today!

A. GSA Carson City Morgan DollarIn 1964, an audit revealed about 3 million Carson City Morgans still in treasury vaults. The Government Services Administration was given authority to sell them, and special packaging was designed. Over time, many of these “GSA Morgans” were removed from their packaging for grading, making the coins in original packaging extremely attractive to collectors. These Morgan Dollars from the GSA hoard are certified and still remain in the original GSA packaging.

Ancient CoinsA. Widows MiteThis coin is not a replica, but an actual bronze coin, certified genuine, minted in the Holy Land over 2000 years ago. What makes these coins of great historical and religious importance is that twice in the Bible, Jesus is quoted as telling the story of the poor widow who gave all that she had, which was just two mites. The coin enclosed is identical to the type of coin she would have had. These coins have been known to collectors for hundreds of years as “Widow’s Mites”.

B. Pontius Pilate CoinPontius Pilate is thought to have been the man who conducted the trial and gave the order to crucify Jesus. C. Coin of the MagiThis is a bronze drachm of Indo Scythinan King Azes II of Bactria – identified by historians as having sent one of the three wise men, or Magi, to pay homage to baby Jesus upon his birth. These coins were minted between the years 35 B.C. and 5 A.D. and were inspired by ancient Greek designs originating 500 years earlier.

(16942) $17.95

D. Byzantine Christ CoinThis unique bronze coin is an example of the 10th-11th century Byzantine folles that featured Christ’s portrait. While earlier gold coins had exhibited portraits of Christ, it took nearly three centuries before the first bronze coins showed such images. These folles are usually found worn and very crudely struck. Quite often, they were over-struck on existing coins where the earlier design elements are still visible.

These tetrobols continued to be struck for at least another 170 years and were a very important part of the small change silver used in Greece during the Hellenistic period – between the death of Alexander in 323 B.C. and the rise of Julius Caesar about 50 B.C.

NEW! Commemorate the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games IT’S OFFICIAL! CSN has been named as ONE of only a handful of Official Olympic Coin Distributors – Don’t miss this opportunity!

To commemorate London’s hosting of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Royal Mint has created the London 2012 Countdown Coins – four UK £5 coins that count down to 2012 over the next three years. The reverses have been designed by Claire Aldridge and complement one another beautifully. Each coin features a border symbolizing a bird’s eye view of the new stadium, a countdown ‘clock’ and the London 2012 Olympic logo highlighted in color.

The 2009 coin depicts the sport of Swimming with the figure ‘3’ overlaid to denote the first year of the countdown. The designs are finely crafted onto the reverse of £5 coins struck in 22 carat gold, sterling silver, and cupronickel.

As we all count down to the greatest sporting and cultural event in the world, a total of four series of proof coins will be struck. By purchasing the 2009 Countdown Series “3” coins, YOU WILL BE FIRST IN LINE to acquire the next three series to complete your set! This incredible four coin set includes:

Journey Across America the Beautiful with Quarter Mania! The eagerly anticipated follow-up to the most collected coins in U.S. history – the 50 State Quarters – has arrived! Introducing America the Beautiful QuartersTM!Each coin in the series honors the natural beauty, landscape and wildlife of 56 of our country’s most important parks, forests and historic sites. And with America’s passion for coin collecting at an all time high, this historic series is likely to spur unprecedented demand. Adding to the collectability is the fact that the America the Beautiful QuartersTM represent one of the lowest mintages in decades – more than 10-times rarer than the 50 State Quarters! Adding to scarcity is the fact that each of the 56 different designs in the program will be minted for 10 weeks – and 10 weeks only – then never again!

But there is an easy way to guarantee you receive ALL 56 coins...

Quarter Mania! Here’s how Quarter Mania starts:You’ll receive these America the Beautiful QuartersTM from 2010:
